Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were surprise guests at fellow A-lister Kevin Costner’s star-studded event at the weekend.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended a charity fundraiser for One805, which was hosted by the Yellowstone star at his sprawling estate in Santa Barbara, California on Saturday.
But a blink-and-you’d-miss-it moment has become the leading talking point from the exclusive soiree, with a video posted to social media showing Meghan, 42, in an awkward moment with one of the organisers onstage.
In the clip, a female holding a microphone can be seen walking in the direction of Meghan and Harry, 38, where the former Suits actress takes hold of the microphone from her hand.
After a brief jostle, the woman takes back control of the microphone and continues walking, as Meghan heads in the opposite direction with Harry trailing behind her.
Social media account HarrysGreySuit posted footage of the moment on X, formerly Twitter, which has since attracted thousands of comments.
“That’s so embarrassing to see,” one comment read. “It’s the fact she assumed, despite presumably knowing there was no plan for her to speak,” another said.
“OMG. So cringe,” a third added.
“I have second hand embarrassment,” a fourth chimed in.
The event, called One805LIVE!, was held to raise money for the local charity which provides financial aid and mental health support to first responders in the Santa Barbara area.
Meghan and Harry weren’t the only big names to attend the fundraiser, with broadcast queen Oprah Winfrey also present.
US band Maroon 5 performed at the event, while Costner delivered a speech to the crowd where he made a cheeky joke about his $211 million property, which has made headlines in recent months following his divorce from ex-wife Christine Baumgartner.
“Now, I get asked a lot by my friends who have no manners, ‘Kev, what’s this place [property] cost? What’s it worth?’ And I can just simply tell you on a day like today it’s worth every penny,” Costner said.
“It’s a place that I’ve had a lot of good luck in my life and I’ve tried to not throw up a wall around it, so thank you for coming.”
Costner was previously expected to host the event with his wife of 18 years, but ended up doing it solo after the couple split in May.
