THE Pokemon TCG can be hard to predict when it comes to Pokemon that don't spend much time in the spotlight, as options like Galvantula are often forgotten in favor of more exciting Pokemon like Mewtwo, which has a valuable roster of choices. However, Galvantula's TCG career has remained dormant since he was released in some of the best sets of the XY Era.
The release of Stellar Crown gave Galvantula an electrifying rebirth, introducing three rare new versions of this Pokemon to chase. While Stellar Crown's most valuable Galvantula cards will see a decline over time, they are likely to remain among the most valuable releases of this Pokemon for the foreseeable future, given the lack of other high-quality options.

5 Galvantula (exclusive deck): XY Phantom Forces (Holo Rare) – $0.85
An exclusive edition
Galvantula kicks things off with a solid rare holo featuring the Electric-type spider sitting in a tree in the forest with a detailed scene of a city in the background. The exclusivity of this card contributes to its desirability, even if its price is not exceptionally high.
Unfortunately, Galvantula can never hope to reach the heights of popular Electric-types like Raikou, which boasts plenty of valuable cards to collect. This card is only worth about $0.86 in near mint condition (NM) condition, with slightly played (LP) cards dropping as low as $0.55, followed by moderately played cards (MP) copies for $0.25.
4 Galvantula: Dark Explorers (Rare) – $0.99
Towards New Horizons
Dark Explorers is one of the most valuable sets of the Black & White era, even though this Galvantula card can't quite break into the dollar range yet, with a market price just off the pace. Just like the Galvantula depicted in the card art, this card remains unappreciated in the shadows, waiting for his chance to shine.
Copies NM of this card are on the increase, rising during 2024 up to $1.49 in some cases. The Reverse Holo version of this card sells for around $1.25 in NM condition, making the Rare more valuable, especially since the Reverse doesn't even have a fixed market price on TCGplayer yet.
3 Galvantula Ex: Stellar Crown (double rare) – $1.61
Twice the rarity, not the price
Stellar Crown gave Galvantula a lifeline, restoring its relevance in the TCG space and adding to its extremely limited roster three fantastic new options for understanding the best Galvantula cards.
The least valuable of the three is easily the double rare Galvantula ex, which gets lost in the rainbow of colors.
Although the initial price of this card was set around $14, it never had a chance to maintain that price after release, immediately settling into a new range under two dollars. This card is likely to continue dropping as more time separates us from Stellar Crown's release date.
2 Galvantula Ex: Stellar Crown (Ultra Rare) – $2.91
A brilliantly jeweled insect
This upgrade over the double rare offers a much better view of Galvantula, as the gemstones on this insect's body form a stunning Tera crown.
The white background is perfect for this card,
as it allows the burst of colors to remain distinct without completely distracting from Galvantula.
Much like the double rare, the starting price of $16 was unlikely to stick, so time will continue to erode the value of this card before the eventual rebound down the road. For now, it hovers around $2.90, but is unlikely to stabilize until it approaches the value of the double rare.
1 Galvantula Ex: Stellar Crown (Rare Special Art) – $38.10
Galvantula's Pinnacle
Stellar Crown is a small set that isn't full of high-level SIRs to collect, which means Galvantula finds itself as one of the featured cards. The perfect view of Galvantula's striking tera crown is just part of the magic, as the paper boasts crackling details nuanced with bright, brilliant colors.
This paper is beautiful and provides a perfect crown for this electric bug; this card could be the
best Galvantula card in the Pokemon TCG in a long time.
However, the estimated price of this card started above the $50 plateau, but immediately dropped below $40 upon release, continuing the negative downward trend that accompanies all cards post-release. The straight line down may slow in the 2020s, but expect this card to decline dramatically as newer and more exciting sets are released, adding to the collection of treasured cards in the Scarlet and Purple era.
