Zelda And Ganondorf Tears Of The Kingdom Amiibo Pre-Orders Back Up At Walmart

Yes, we may be giddy about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Bros. Wonder right now, but they’re going to have their work cut out if either of them wants to be named Game of the Year. Tears of the Kingdom might still have that particular award wrapped up, and an amiibo restock at Walmart today may have reminded a few people of that after a very big video game weekend. Pre-orders for Zelda and Ganondorf’s figures are available again for the first time in a while.

The two new amiibos were revealed earlier this year and pre-orders opened shortly after the most recent Nintendo Direct. However, all of those pre-orders were snapped up pretty quickly, and restocks of the figures have experienced the same fate. That’s why if you’re reading this soon enough after the article went live, you should act fast if you want to be among the first to add the new amiibos to your collection.

Not only are the Zelda and Ganondorf figures the first ones modeled after the characters likenesses in Tears of the Kingdom, but they’re two of just three amiibos spun from the game so far. Link is the only other character from the game to have been honored with an amiibo so far, getting his at launch which seems fair since he’s the lead character. Pretty much all Zelda amiibos, whether linked to Tears of the Kingdom or not, will unlock a new glider fabric if used while playing the newest Zelda game.

Zelda’s first Tears of the Kingdom amiibo has the princess holding a repaired Master Sword. While tapping the figure on your Switch won’t fix the legendary weapon, it will give you a unique new fabric for your paraglider.

While the links above will take you to Walmart pre-orders for both items, there isn’t long to wait now until they’ll be in your hands and you can tap them to your Switch, and proudly display them with the rest of your amiibos, if course. Set to release on November 3, 2023, this may well be the last time you get the chance to pre-order them before they officially launch in a little less than two weeks.

Ganondorf’s Tears of the Kingdom look, which many were big fans of at launch, now has its own amiibo. Announced alongside a new Zelda figure and available from November 2023.

The next few months are going to be busy ones for amiibo collectors. Splatoon 3 has three new amiibos coming soon. All three members of the Deep Cut crew, although Big Man appears to be the most popular by a comfortable distance. A Xenoblade Chronicles 3 two-pack featuring Noah and Mio is also coming soon, and Nintendo has confirmed a Sora figure will complete its Super Smash Bros. Ultimate collection in 2024.
