Aaron Greenberg, vice president of Xbox game marketing at Microsoft, clarified a controversial comment made on the matter Banjo-Kazooie franchising. At a recent event for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024Greenberg reportedly said, “Nobody cares Banjo-Kazooie” in response to a fan who cried out when the public was asked which game franchises they would like to see return. Greenberg has since taken to Twitter to clarify that his comment was sarcastic. “I absolutely know how much Banjo-Kazooie means to our fans and players everywhere,” Greenberg said. “It holds a special place in my heart, growing up playing these classic games.”

Microsoft has not announced anything new Banjo-Kazooie I've been playing ever since Nuts and bolts released in 2008, but the IP hasn't remained completely dormant. HD remasters of Banjo-Kazooie AND You too they were released individually and as part of the Rare reproduction collection. Additionally, Banjo and Kazooie have been added to the file Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster as DLC guest fighters. Fans no doubt appreciate these things, but many are eager to see a proper third installment in the series.
Luckily, there have been rumors of a third Banjo-Kazooie the game is in development, though it's unclear which studio is making it. All we know for sure is that Double Fine isn't making the new Banjo-Kazooie game, and so if it exists, it will be interesting to see who is making it and what form it ultimately takes. Other insiders have denied the rumors that this is new Banjos the game is in development, so fans should keep their expectations in check. Regardless, fans can rest assured that Microsoft is at least well aware of the demand for a new product Banjo-Kazooie game, and the comment about no one caring about the series was made in a sarcastic manner.
