World of Warcraft has officially confirmed that Brann will be the only Delve companion that players will be able to access The internal war. Although it was originally planned to add a new character to Delves each season, World of Warcraft will now keep Brann around until Midnight expansion.
Delves is a new instance type introduced in The internal war which can be completed alone or in a group with an NPC companion. At launch, the companion was Brann Bronzebeard, explorer extraordinaire and younger brother of Magni and Muradin, although he had previously stated that he wanted to switch to a new companion in each season of the expansion.

During an interview with Oh content creators The Comeback Kids, World of Warcraft Game director Ion Hazzikostas confirmed that Brann would not only remain in the game World of Warcraft Patch 11.1, but in everything The internal war. “The great one [challenge with changing companions] it's that players have leveled up Brann, completely buffed him up and buffed him up. If you replace him, will we take everything away from him?” Hazzikostas feared that resetting progress with his partner Delve every season would be a shame for fans, so to avoid this, players will keep Brann as a partner until Midnight.
Brann is the only exploration companion in World of Warcraft: The War Within
From a logistical point of view this makes sense. While adding new exploration companions would add variety, replacing all the hard work players put into leveling Brann every few months wouldn't be great. Some fans suggest keeping both characters or sharing progress between them, but it seems like these solutions didn't fit Blizzard's idea of how additional Delve companions would work. It might be a disappointment for the players, but it seems like it World of Warcraft will only receive one Delve companion every two years for the foreseeable future.

That said, there's still some good news about Delves in patch 11.1. Three new instances: two additional Delves and a final boss Delve similar to the WoW: The War Within The Season 1 Zevkir encounter is coming, with goblin-themed objectives, rewards, and trivia. Brann can also become a tank, allowing his companion Delve to fill any role.
Exactly how the additional Delve companions will work remains to be seen World of Warcraft: Midnightor which characters might accompany players in instances of the expansion. Since it takes place in Quel'thalas, fans could team up with iconic elven explorers, like Naleidea Rivergleam or Elise Starseeker. Until then, players can only speculate on how the system will change throughout the Worldsoul Saga and beyond.
