An April Fool's joke that became an official series
What he would later become Destiny/Strange fake it was actually a April Fool's joke published on Ryogo Narita's (Durarara AND Noise! Creator) website in 2008, originally named Night of destiny/states (a play on words between “stay night” and “United States”). As the title suggests, it was a parody, featuring a Destiny game project that would take place in the United States.
After April 1st the post was removed. But TYPE-MOON appreciated the joke and later published it as a novel. In 2015 it became the Destiny/strange fake light novel series, with 9 volumes so far. The story is written by Narita and Morii Shizuki is responsible for the illustrations.
Plot Overview: An alternate future of Fate/Stay Night
It started as a joke, but what is this series about? Well, an American organization collected information during the Third Holy Grail War, which occurred in 1939 Fate/stay night'There's the history, and then I started working on a way to play it.
In 2009, they tried to do this in a town called Snowfield (but it didn't go as planned, allowing strange summons to start happening). In this scenario, the Wizards' Association (based in London) sends Langal and Faldeus to investigate Snowfield and this war, but Faldeus is actually a spy for the US organization. The timelines can be confusing, but this is basically a “what if” future for part of the Fate/stay night narrative.
Fake destiny/strange anime staff
The anime series features a returning cast from Fate/Strange Fake: Whispers of the Dawn movie. A-1 Images is once again animating it (usually Destiny are animated by Ufotable, but this one is different), with Avoid Enokido AND Takahito Sakazume as administrators.
For those who haven't seen the film, Enokido previously directed a music video titled Rhapsody of flowers and was animation director on some Destiny/Apocrypha episodes. Sakazume made his directorial debut with this series, but has worked on similar series before Black Clover, Destiny/Apocrypha AND Destiny/Grand Order. Apocrypha it's kind of Strange fake prototype, so it's important that both directors have worked on it and are working hard on it.
Daisuke Ohigashi he is the head writer and his portfolio includes Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045 (script and screenplay) e Nobility (script). Legendary composer Hiroyuki Sawano is responsible for the music (Sawano's portfolio is huge, but his recent works include Solo leveling).
