The Winter 2025 anime lineup has all the potential in the world to get the year started on the right note, offering shows that cover a wide spectrum of genres, themes, and demographics. Action fans should check out Solo Leveling Season 2: Arise from the Shadow, Sakamoto Days, Ishura, Ubel Blatt, and Grisaia: Phantom Trigger, just to name a couple of the season’s bigger series. Meanwhile, viewers craving romance can try My Happy Marriage Season 2, Honey Lemon Soda, Can You Keep a Secret?, and Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You. Winter 2025 even has comedy well covered with The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You Season 2 and I’m Getting Married to a Girl I Hate in My Class, while isekai and fantasy have plenty of representatives too.

As always, the question is “Where can all these anime be watched?” Like its many predecessors, the anime Winter 2025 lineup is split across a plethora of platforms, with Crunchyroll, HIDIVE, Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video all announcing exclusives. There are also a few series that have yet to reveal their Western streaming homes, and some might remain that way. To simplify the process, let’s go through each main platform’s announced shows.

Solo Leveling, Dr. Stone, The Apothecary Diaries, & More

Crunchyroll’s Winter 2025 anime lineup is comfortably the largest and most diverse, which is the case for every season. While there is a small chance the platform could reveal another show, in all likelihood, the lineup is complete and will receive no more additions. Winter 2025 has started airing episodes by this point, with most of the content being available on Crunchyroll.

As always, the streaming service has a good mix of new anime and sequels covering quite a wide range of genres and themes. Solo Leveling Season 2 -Arise from the Shadow- is unquestionably the biggest series as part of this season, and it is exclusively available on Crunchyroll. The first season delivered great action, and there is nothing to suggest the sequel will fail to live up to its predecessor’s quality. When it comes to other notable Winter 2025 sequels, Toilet-bound Hanako-kun, The Apothecary Diaries, The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, REALLY Love You, Dr. Stone, Blue Exorcist, Grisaia Phantom Trigger, Unnamed Memory, and Link Click are all on Crunchyroll. Re:Zero and Shangri-La Frontier will also continue to release new episodes, as will Dragon Ball Daima.

While overshadowed by the returning names, Crunchyroll’s new shows are also quite exciting. I’m Getting Married to a Girl I Hate in My Class, Medaka Kuroiwa is Impervious to My Charms, and Okitsura should have both comedy and romance fans covered. Meanwhile, people craving isekai can check out Headhunted to Another World: From Salaryman to Big Four!, The Daily Life of a Middle-Aged Online Shopper in Another World, and The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in Another World, just to name a few.

Fate/strange Fake‘s first episode is also on Crunchyroll, but the anime is not part of the Winter 2025 season.

Crunchyroll Winter 2025 English Dubs

As always, Crunchyroll’s Winter 2025 anime lineup includes a range of dubs, with the service so far announcing its English shows. That said, a few more language dubs will likely be revealed in the future, with Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu being guaranteed.

From Bureaucrat to Villainess, Flower and Asura, & More

In 2024, HIDIVE opted to specialize in anime that leans into ecchi territory, carving out a niche for itself in the process. Winter 2025’s Beheneko and I’m Living with an Otaku NEET Kunoichi!? should continue that trend, and they will be accompanied by Flower and Asura and an isekai anime called From Bureaucrat to Villainess: Dad’s Been Reincarnated! The latter looks fun, and the former could be one of the year’s bigger surprises.

Sorairo Utility is shaping up to be a fun addition to the cute girls doing sports things subgenres, hopefully satisfying two preferences at the same time. The first episode had good animation and revolved around a likable protagonist, setting the stage for what should be a charming series. The HIDIVE Winter 2025 anime lineup is small as always, but it is decent and offers a fairly diverse selection of options. For what is a relatively young streaming service, five exclusives is quite impressive.

Netflix Winter 2025 Anime Lineup

Sakamoto Days, My Happy Marriage, & More

Netflix used to mainly focus on anime that can be released in one go, but that has changed recently. Nowadays, the subscription service seems to always have a few simulcast seasonal anime. Sakamoto Days should be a huge deal, provided the adaptation comes close to matching the brilliance of the source material. If done right, this anime could be something special. My Happy Marriage is also making its comeback, and it is arguably the biggest romance series of the season. The first cour was generally well-received, with most of the criticism going towards the one-dimensional villains.

The Boys Love genre does not have much representation in this season, but Netflix’s Winter 2025 anime lineup included Babanba Banban Vampire. Otherwise, the service has quite a handful of Fall 2024 leftovers like Blue Box and Orb: On the Movements of the Earth, both of which should continue to be brilliant.

Ubel Blatt, Medalist, & More

Crunchyroll is the main venue for Winter 2025 anime, with HIDIVE and Netflix coming in as the secondary options. However, a few other services will be airing shows during this quarter, and they even have a couple of exciting exclusives that could make an investment worthwhile. That said, the lack of options means that these lineups will likely not justify dedicated subscriptions, but they would be fun bonuses for people who already utilize these platforms.

Amazon Prime Video always receives at least one simulcast exclusive, and there does not seem to be any rhyme or reason behind the show’s selection. For Winter 2025, Ubel Blatt will be available with a Prime Video subscription, which is a relatively big get for the service. Etorouji Shiono’s seinen manga lasted for roughly 15 years, producing 24 volumes and 170 chapters in the process. A sequel even debuted in 2024, so the property is successful. Honestly, it is kind of surprising that it took this long for an adaptation to happen, but that could be explained by Ubel Blatt being a dark fantasy with limited mainstream appeal.

Hulu’s Winter 2025 anime lineup is shaping up to be quality. Dragon Ball Daima is the biggest name, although the Fall 2024 leftover is available on a myriad of other platforms. When it comes to completely new shows, Ishura Season 2 and Medalist will be airing on Hulu, and they both have the potential to be among the season’s nicest surprises. The former is an action-packed dark fantasy isekai anime that had a polarizing opening season, mostly due to the creative decision to dedicate the first few episodes to introducing the different characters. Season 1 became pretty great by the end of its run. Medalist should also be a fantastic option for sports fans, at least if the adaptation comes close to matching the quality of the source material.

Can You Keep a Secret?

Every season includes anime that just never land on Western streaming platforms, and Winter 2025 will not be an exception. Can You Keep a Secret? seems like an anime that should be released in North America, but whether that comes to pass remains to be seen.
