Where to find the arbiters of the soul and Circe in Throne and Freedom

The Abyssal Contract is one of many Codex missions that players can undertake early on Throne and Freedom. This is set in the spider-infested Carmine Forest, but instead of focusing on the many eight-legged monsters players see there, this mission focuses on the haunted dungeon and its cursed inhabitants.

While the Abyssal Contract isn't particularly complicated, it can be confusing for players who have no idea where its main objectives should be. It's similar to Throne and Freedom The Return of the Age of Wolves quest in a way: everything becomes much easier once you know what to do and where to go. Here's how to complete this side quest.

Before going into more detail about this mission, here are all the steps needed to complete it:

1. Talk to Rutaine in Carmine Forest.
2. Find and defeat a Soul Arbiter in Carmine Forest.
3. Follow the soul that appears.
4. Defeat Circe.
5. Talk to Rutaine again.

Position of the Soul Arbiter in Throne and Freedom

The most confusing parts of this quest are the locations of Soul Arbiters and Circe. You can find the first one near the Carmine Forest waypoint. The game should highlight their potential locations on the map, but in case none are visible, refer to the map above. You should also be able to farm some Manasteel ore in this area.

It seems that Soul Arbiters are generated sparingly. If other players are also doing this quest, there is a chance that they have already killed the Soul Arbiters in the area. In this case, wait a few minutes until another one is generated.

Circe's position in Throne and Freedom

After defeating the Soul Arbiter, a soul will emerge from his ghostly remains. Follow it and you will arrive at the gates of the Syleus Abyss. You'll find Circe right before the stairs leading further down into the dungeon. However, there's a big chance that she won't be there when you arrive, and that's because other players in the area may have already eliminated her. He's not that difficult to fight, but make sure to upgrade your character accordingly.

Getting Circe to spawn can be a little tricky. If you don't spawn once the souls reach their destination, try tapping the nearby waypoint. If it still doesn't appear, entering Syleus' Abyss could trigger the right events. If none of these work, your best bet is to do so wait for someone else who is doing the same search. If you see another player following souls into the open dungeon, wait for them at the edge of the stairs and see if Circe spawns for them.
