With the release of Bog Witch, the developers of Valheim have now given players a first look at the highly anticipated Deep North update. Valheim has come a long way since its Early Access launch, as the sandbox game has sold over 13 million copies on Steam and Xbox and boasts very positive reviews. Added the Mistlands in December 2022 and the Ashlands in May 2024, taking ValheimProgression to new heights, especially when it comes to difficulty.
However, a biome in Valheim still remains incomplete: the Deep North. While modders have attempted to tackle the Deep North on their own, Iron Gate's developers have long been adamant that it would be the final update before Valheimit's the real launch. Many players have found the Ashlands to be a difficult experience, and there's a good chance that the Deep North offers a similar level of challenge. While the Deep North will primarily be developing a full version of the titular biome, the update itself is even more ambitious than one might assume.
