US rushing delivery of air defense interceptor missiles to Ukraine to counter increased Russian attacks

WASHINGTON: The White House announced Thursday it will accelerate the delivery of air defense interceptors to Ukraine, redirecting planned deliveries to other allied countries, amid Washington’s efforts to counter intensified Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure. National security spokesman John Kirby said the United States had made a “difficult but necessary decision to reprioritize near-term planned deliveries of foreign military equipment to other countries,” although he did not say which countries or how many were affected.
