This story arc may be Hisoka's last in HxH. Here are some tips left by Togashi.
Many fans have always wondered about this particular statistic and now, finally, they have the answer to their question as Morena Prudo shows off the fruits of her research.
Morena reveals the prevalence of each Nen type among people
The findings come from his own research
This week, Togashi released a rather interesting chapter HxH. A very intriguing part of the chapter centered around Togashi releasing a pie chart, indicating the prevalence of all Nen types.
With application and effort, anyone can learn Nen. This is why we must be careful when choosing who will learn. – Wing
These numbers are from Morena's research and not, per se, official numbers, but they may be as close as possible for fans to get a clearer view of which types of Nen are rare and uncommon and which are the most prevalent among the people.
The most common: improvement
27% of the population
Enhancers make up the majority when it comes to Nen types. They are the most common and this may not surprise many, since the HxH it definitely showed off a lot of Enhancers. Morena's research indicates that enhancers make up 27% of people, or more than 1/4 of the population.
An Enhancer is someone whose Nen aura can enhance one's abilities. This can manifest itself in many creative ways, as recently seen with Dogman, where he can enhance his sense of smell to detect the aura of others, even if not awakened by Nen.
Undoubtedly, the best-known Enhancer in the series is Gon, the protagonist of the series, as well as the legendary Isaac Netero. Although it is the most common Nen type, that doesn't mean it is bad in any way.
Emission
24% of the population
The second most common type of Nen, right after Empowerment, is none other than Emission. Emitters make up 24% of the population based on what Morena said, making them basically almost 1 in 4 people, which is pretty common.
Emitters are people who use their aura and separate it from their body without too much trouble. Thanks to this, emitters are usually particularly good at long-range attacks. In its simplest forms it can be simply throwing projectiles, in its more complex forms it can be something like teleportation.
Some very notable emitters in HxH they include one of the main characters, Leorio, and also the strongest character seen so far HxHMeruem, the King of Ants. The emission is common, but can still be extremely powerful.
Transmutation
19% of the population
Transmuters are a bit of a middle ground when it comes to how common they are. According to Morena's findings, they represent approximately 19% of the population.
Transmuters are Nen users who can change the properties of their aura and this can be quite versatile. The Nen user can change their aura to anything, such as electricity, or even something like an eraser, all depending on what the user desires.
HxH saw many interesting Transmuters, the main one being Killua. Hisoka, Youpi, and Biscuit are all very important transmuters as well. Transmuters are not rare based on the number Morena provides, but they are also not as common as the other two before, being closer to 1 in 5 people.
Handling
15% of the population
Manipulation is one of the least common Nen types in HxH. Morena shows that, based on his research, they only represent about 15% of the population, which is a big difference compared to Enhancers, who for example are 27%.

Hisoka and Chrollo are powerful characters in HxH. Even though they fought once, they may soon have a deadly rematch.
As the name suggests, Manipulation allows you to use your aura to control other things, whether living or non-living. Manipulators can be quite fearsome if they can control their enemies, which could end any fight very quickly.
Perhaps the most popular manipulator in the series is none other than Illumi Zoldyck, the eldest son of the Zoldyck family. Besides him, characters like Pouf, Shalnark, and Morel are all pretty well-known manipulators HxH. As one of the rarest Nen types, it makes Manipulators even more fearsome as you are less likely to encounter them like other Nen types.
Evocation
15% of the population
Just like Manipulation, Conjuration only makes up 15% of the population, Morena revealed HxH 408. In other words, both Manipulation and Summoning are the second rarest Nen types HxHonly when both are combined do they reach a similar number to the Enhancement. That means inside HxHyou would be much less likely to encounter someone using Manipulation or Conjuration, than someone using Empowerment or Emission.
Conjuration is, as implied, the ability to create something with aura. It can be confused with Transmutation, as they both look similar, but the Summoners' creations are more independent of them.
The most famous magician in the world HxH it is definitely Kurapika, one of the main four of the series. Other very notable magicians in HxH include Kite, Shizuku, and Hinrigh, among others.
The Rarest Nen Type: Specialization
0.033% of the population
To no surprise to fans, the rarest Nen type is Specialization, which wasn't hard to figure out, even without the numbers. However, many fans probably don't realize how rare it is in the world HxH world. Morena reveals that only 0.033% of the population are specialists, or about 1 in 3000 people. Comparing that to Enhancement, which is closer to 1 in 4 people, there's a big difference. Despite how rare it is, fans have still seen many powerful specialists HxHwhich is because these specialized Nen users stand out and have the best potential to become the best Nen users.
I've done my research, so there may be some margin of error, but I think specialists are about one in 3000 people. —Morena Prudo
Specialists are unique in every sense. Their aura doesn't follow any strict rules, and they're a perfect way for Togashi to display unique and incredible abilities that don't fit any of the other types. Their rarity means they can be quite versatile.
One of the most popular specialists in HxH is Chrollo Lucilfer, the leader of the Phantom Troupe, who has developed an ability capable of stealing the nen abilities of others. Morena herself is also a specialist. You can't forget Kurapika either. While a Summoner, he becomes a Specialist when his eyes turn red and can use any type of Nen with 100% proficiency. Besides these, other noteworthy specialists include Pitou, Pakunoda and Tserriednich.
