Key points
- Chopper's Brain Point and Crosshair were once an integral part of his combat, but were abandoned in One Piece after the timeskip.
- Brain Point added depth and complexity to Chopper's character, balancing his intelligence with Monster Point's ferocity.
- While Scope may need an update due to its overpowered nature, its return could make Chopper's fights more dynamic in the modern series.
From the beginning of the post-time jump A piece, Chopper, the Straw Hats' doctor, has struggled to find his balance. Taking on a more mascot-centric role than before, many fans have been displeased with the overbearing cuteness and lack of depth the character has recently faced. This change in character is especially noticeable when looking back at the complexity of the character during One piece arcs like Enies Lobby and Drum Island, where Chopper had plenty of moments to shine.
At the same time, many fans also miss Chopper's old forms that he used in combat. With the modern Chopper inside One piece by relying too often on the Kung-Fu Point, older forms, like Horn Point and Heavy Point, have not only been overshadowed, but have been written off for looking too cute. Besides that, one form, which was Chopper's final technique, has almost disappeared from the series; Brain point: scope. Despite One piece and Chopper's character evolves beyond the need for this power, it would be great to see Brain Point return before the end of the series.

One Piece: Does Usopp really need a new power-up?
While many fans believe Usopp needs a power-up in the new One Piece story arc, Elbaf, this isn't the best move for the character.
Chopper's brain spot in One Piece was used for combat
Using Intellect in Combat
Before The one from One Piece time jump, Brain Point was one of Chopper's forms that he would use in combat. First introduced in the Drum Island Arc, Brain Point causes Chopper to focus his energy into his brain, as the name suggests, giving him greater cognition and allowing him to use his Scope ability. By using the scope and analyzing the target for a while, Chopper was able to pinpoint the weak points of any enemy, allowing him to quickly eliminate his enemy from there.
This will finish you. Scope!
Scope's power has not been used at all since the start of the post-timeskip One piecewith Monster Point serving as the reindeer's default finishing technique. While many consider Chopper's new default form to be Brain Point, due to the size of Chopper's head after the timeskip, the Scope technique has yet to make an appearance. Realistically, if Chopper was now in Brain Point as his default form, using Scope during the fight with Big Mom during Whole Cake Island would have been extremely useful. Since he doesn't, it's safe to assume the power was discarded for his other abilities.
Brain Point helps flesh out Chopper's character
Character development through powers
Chopper's strange devil fruit, with forms like Brain Point and Scope, always helped the characters' fight scenes stay interesting. Before the drama and stakes of Monster Point, which was later edited out for even the worst post-time jump, Chopper's fights relied on dumb tactics and outwitting opponents. Despite being naive, Chopper is still incredibly intelligent and using his intelligence in battles seemed like a natural fit for the character.

One Piece: Buggy proves that power isn't everything
While he may be one of the weakest characters in all of One Piece, Buggy proves that power in One Piece may come second to something else.
At the same time, comparing Chopper's Brain Point to the Monster Point, which made its first appearance during The one from One Piece Enies Lobby Arc, the two forms act as a sort of Yin and Yang that balance Chopper's character. One side, Brain Point, represents Chopper's intelligence and humanity, while the other, Monster Point, represents Chopper offering himself to the monster he believes he is. Together, the two forms give Chopper a layer of complexity that he doesn't seem to possess in the modern One piece.
Brain Point could use an update in One Piece
The skill is dated
Although there are many reasons to reintroduce Scope into the series, handling it well in the modern world One piece it could be a difficult task. The crosshair is a bit like an instant win button for Chopper, allowing him to almost completely win every fight after using it. While it makes for some interesting scenarios, it might make Chopper's fights a little formulaic and boring. However, if the combat combines the Scope with the raw combat power of Monster Point, it might be a little more interesting.
I always run away. Everyone always pays my bail. That's why no one is counting on me! It's time for me to step up and raise the pirate flag!
Ultimately, as with all characters stronger than A piece, powers are sometimes used and never revisited. Many Straw Hats have techniques that were once their primary abilities but were never seen again after the timeskip. Unfortunately for Chopper, while others were given more interesting techniques to compensate when Scope was removed from One pieceChopper is sadly left with a cuter form of Monster Point and the polarizing Kung-Fu Point.
