Investing in technical skills for better gameplay
Choose the most useful skills to invest in. Lockpicking is an incredibly useful skill, as it allows for all types of looting. Since stealing is essentially allowed until the act is seen, Lockpicking is the most valuable skill in the game. Other valuable skills alongside this are the Science, Engineering, and Medicine skills; in particular, it is important to get the Engineering skill to level 20 as soon as possible, which allows The outside world players to repair weapons in the field instead of having to return to a workbench. The Science skill also unlocks the ability to tinker and modify weapons, allowing them to be improved to several times their base stat.
Unlocks a secret ending with low intelligence
It might be intuitive to invest points in Intelligence, but a low Intelligence score actually results in some funny dialogue options that would otherwise be unavailable. Aside from the humor, there's also a secret ending in The outer worlds which can only be unlocked if the player character has a low Intelligence score.

Disable basic item stats

While an Aggressive playstyle may suit some, it also results in The outer worlds companions who kill all NPCs in an area if something goes wrong, such as accidentally stealing something while in an NPC's sights. NPCs are especially important in The outer worlds because they trigger side quests in conversations. NPC deaths permanently end those side quests, and killing everyone in sight will result in a large amount of The outside worldcontent and gameplay.
Make backup saves
If something goes wrong, it's always good to go back to a previous save without getting too lost. Save often and in different slots, because while game-breaking bugs don't happen too often in The outer worldsAccidents do, and actions like repeating choices or choosing different conversation options are easier to do if there are multiple save files to return to.
Traveling while encumbered is always a pain, so one of the best perks to unlock early on The outer worlds is the Traveler perk, which allows the player character to travel fast while overloaded.
