The strongest Pokemon in only one regional Pokedex

The wonderful world of Pokemon it is made up of various regions and each of them has its own Regional Pokédex which details what creatures can be found residing in it. Of course, most Pokemon have appeared in more than one region and, therefore, are part of more than one regional Pokedex. However, there have been some exceptions.

Several Pokemon are still relegated to existence part of only one regional Pokedexand most of them are obviously legendary or mythical. This ultimately means that some of the most powerful in existence were never cataloged in another Pokedex after their first appearance, although most of them can still be transferred to other games, just without a written entry.

It can only be found in the Kanto Pokedex

Every single Kanto Pokemon has found its way to another regional Pokedex, but Melmetal it's a fascinating exception, because it wasn't even introduced in the first generation. The Cursed Walnut Pokemon made its main series debut in Let's go, Pikachu! and let's go, Eevee!meaning it was only part of that game's Kanto Pokedex.

Of course, Melmetal can be transferred to Sword and shield (where it also gained a Gigantamax form), but has not yet been part of any other regional Pokedex. And that's a real shame, because this Pokemon is an absolute beast in battle, thanks to its total base stats of 600 and its useful Iron Fist Ability, which significantly increases the power of its signature move: Double Iron Bash.

7 Ho-Oh/Lugia

It can only be found in the Johto Pokedex

Ho-oh AND Lugia they are the mascots of Box Art Gold and Silver and their remakes, therefore, naturally, are closely connected to the lore and history of the Johto region. But, because of this vital connection, they have not been part of any subsequent regional Pokedex.

This is very strange, because Ho-Oh and Lugia were the legendaries of the original box art and were introduced more than 25 years ago. With a shared base stat total of 680 and two of the best signature moves in the game (Sacred Fire and Aeroblast respectively), others Pokemon regions would be very lucky to have these two iconic winged giants as part of their Pokedex.

6 Yveltal/Xerneas

It can only be found in the Kalos Pokedex

From Yveltal AND Xernea they are the box art of the Legendaries Pokemon X and Ythey are obviously tied to the tradition of their home region of Kalos. But what's particularly strange is that this doesn't apply to the third member of the Aura Trio, Zygarde, since this Pokemon is also part of the Alola Pokedex, the region where its other two forms were introduced.

But Yveltal and Xerneas should definitely be included in some other regional Pokedex, not only because of their fascinating origins but also because they are incredibly powerful Pokemon. Both have a base stat total of 600 and can use some unique signature moves. Yveltal's Oblivion Wing gives him a significant advantage in battle, but Xerneas' Geomancy is one of the most flawed moves in the entire franchise.

5 Calirex

It can only be found in the Galar Crown Tundra Pokedex

The implementation of downloadable content has had a positive impact on the Pokemon franchise, but it also led to some formidable creatures getting stuck in the regional Pokedex of its introductory DLC. Calirex is the best example of this event, as it can only be found in the Pokedex of Sword and shieldThe Crown Tundra expansion.

Calyrex is surprisingly powerful, thanks to its Ice Rider and Shadow Rider forms, both of which have solid type combinations and can wield their incredible signature moves: Glacial Lance and Astral Barrage. Because of these elements, both forms of Calyrex have become extremely popular among competitive athletes Pokemon players, despite only being present in a regional Pokedex.

4 Zekrom/Reshiram/Kyurem

It can only be found in the Unova Pokedex

The Unova region of Generation V can be quite isolated, which has led to many of its Pokemon being excluded from other regional Pokedexes. The most striking examples are the three Box Art legendaries: Zekrom, Reshiram and Kyurem. All three are incredibly powerful, with solid stats and efficient signature moves, but Kyurem is a special standout.

The Border Pokemon is known for having two alternate forms where it fuses with Zekrom and Reshiram to create Black Kyurem AND White Kyurem respectively. These two forms are not only even more powerful than the original version, but can also utilize powerful signature moves. However, neither were ever cataloged in another regional Pokedex after their introduction Pokemon Black 2 and White 2.

3 Necrozma

It can only be found in the Alolan Pokedex

Similarly to Kyurem, Necrozma can fuse with the other members of the respective trio – Solgaleo and Lunala – to create two powerful alternate forms called Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings. However, what sets this Pokemon apart is its incredible third and final form: Ultra Necrozma.

With a base stat total of 754 and the ability to use Sky Burning Light (the most powerful Z-Move in the Generation VII games), Ultra Necrozma is extremely powerful. He's also famous for starring in one of the most challenging boss battles in the entire franchise. Despite all these impressive feats, none of Necrozma's forms have ever been part of any other regional Pokedex after the Alola games.

2 Groudon/Kyogre/Rayquaza

It can only be found in the Hoenn Pokedex

Like the third generation Box Art Legendaries games and their respective remakes, Groudon, KyogreAND Rayquaza they follow the trend of only being present in their original regional Pokedex. But this also means that their formidable alternative forms are also exclusive to it.

This means this Primordial Groudon AND Primal Kyogrewith a base stat total of 770 (which is even higher than Arceus' BST) they were only cataloged in the new Hoenn Pokedex of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. And if that wasn't enough, it also applies to MegaRayquaza: This incredible Mega Evolution is slightly stronger than both forms of Primal Reversion and is also fondly remembered for being one of the most powerful Pokemon ever created.

1 Eternated

It can only be found in the Galar Pokedex

While technically not Legendary Box Art, Eternatus he is still vitally important to the Galar region, as he single-handedly created the Dynamax phenomenon in the region. With its total base stats of 690 and its solid combination of Dragon and Poison types, the gigantic Pokemon is a pretty efficient fighter, but it's nothing special when compared to other legendaries.

But Eternatus stands out more than any other Pokemon in the franchise, thanks to its Eternamax form. This hulking behemoth has a base stat total of 1125, making it the most powerful Pokemon ever created. Although this is primarily a boss that cannot be used regularly by players, Eternamax Eternatus not only is it 100% exclusive to the Galar Pokedex, but it hasn't even appeared in anything else Pokemon game after Sword and shield.
