The Strongest One Piece Characters Who Never Won a Fight

Key points

  • Strong One Piece characters like Smoothie and Jack have always failed to win the biggest fights.
  • Despite having unique abilities and Ambition, characters like Marco and Burgess have failed to achieve victories.
  • Even characters like Koby and Smoker, who have potential and growth, have yet to get a major win.

A piece has no shortage of powerful characters. Most of them are equipped with dangerous Devil Fruits, which give them an edge over their opponents. Some of them have even mastered the use of Haki and have successfully incorporated it into their Devil Fruit attacks.

However, some strong A piece characters have failed to win any major fights in their lives. In some cases, it was because they were matched up against much stronger opponents. Other times, they were simply unlucky and their fights were cut short. No matter the reason, these characters have failed to break the ice.

The list includes characters who have not won a single major fight.

7 Charlotte's Smoothie

Affiliation: Big Mom Pirates

Charlotte Smoothie, a long-legged human hybrid who stares at Tamago (largely invisible in this photo, aside from her long legs)

  • Devil Fruit: Shibo Shibo no Mi
  • Haki: Yes

Charlotte Smoothie is Big Mom's daughter. She is one of the Sweet Commanders, which means she is among the best fighters in the team. Smoothie possesses the Shibo Shibo no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows her to drain the moisture from a person's body. In layman's terms, she can drain the life from them, as if she were squeezing juice from a fruit.

The ability is not limited to humans. She can also use it on animals and any inanimate objects. Despite having such a powerful ability at her disposal, Smoothie failed to make a major impact in the Whole Cake Island arc. It was a repeat in the Wano Country arc, where she was unable to help her crewmates.

6 Jack

Affiliation: Pirate Beasts

Jack goes on a rampage against Zou in his hybrid form in One Piece

  • Devil Fruit: Zou Zou no Mi, Model: Mammoth
  • Haki: Yes

Jack is a member of the All-Stars of the Beasts Pirates, making him one of Kaido's strongest subordinates. Jack was the first pirate to have a bounty of 1 billion berries revealed, which was a big deal at the time. He has the power of the Zou Zou no Mi, Model: Mammoth, which allows him to transform into the prehistoric creature.

The Devil Fruit granted him immense physical strength, allowing him to fight relentlessly against the likes of Inuarashi and Nekomamushi. However, Jack failed to win any major 1v1s in the series. He even reached a stalemate against the Mink rulers and would eventually lose. To prevent this, he released Caesar's poison gas and paralyzed the Mink.

5 Mark

Affiliation: Whitebeard Pirates

  • Devil Fruit: Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Phoenix
  • Haki: Yes

Marco was the commander of the Whitebeard Pirates' first division. He began traveling with the crew when he was still a child. Over time, he grew stronger and earned the respect of his crewmates. Marco possesses the Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Phoenix, a mythological Zoan-type Devil Fruit that grants him the ability to transform into a Phoenix.

With this power, he can fly and regenerate from all types of injuries. Marco is also skilled in the use of Haki, which he has demonstrated many times. Unfortunately, Marco has been framed to fight characters much stronger than him. With the story already in the Final Saga, Marco won't have much to break the ice with.

4 Jesus Burgess

Affiliation: Blackbeard's Pirates

Jesus Burgess defeats the gladiators in the Dressrosa Colosseum in One Piece

  • Devil Fruit: Riki Riki no Mi
  • Haki: Yes

Jesus Burgess is the captain of the Titanic, the first ship of the Blackbeard Pirates. Not many people know this, but he is also Blackbeard's right-hand man. Burgess is a large man, so he seems intimidating to his opponents. Burgess did not initially have a Devil Fruit, but he acquired one after the Dressrosa arc.

Burgess possesses the Riki Riki no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that greatly increases his strength. Burgess is able to lift an entire mountain with his bare hands and throw it at his enemies. Despite his insane physical prowess, Burgess has yet to win a fight in One Piece.

3 Gecko Moria

Affiliation: Gecko Pirates, Thriller Bark Pirates

Gecko Moria from One Piece

  • Devil Fruit: Kage Kage no Mi
  • Haki: Unconfirmed

Gecko Moria is one of the few characters who has captained two different pirate crews. Many years before the current timeline, he led the Gecko Pirates. But after they were defeated by Kaido, Moria was forced to form another crew. His second crew became known as the Thriller Bark Pirates.

Gecko Moria possesses the Kage Kage no Mi, which allows him to control shadows. Even with a Devil Fruit at his disposal, Gecko Moria has failed to win a major fight.

2 Cobita

Affiliation: SWORD

koby the hero of one piece

  • Devil Fruit: None
  • Haki: Yes

Koby is a Marine captain who has managed to gain a lot of fame in a short time. In fact, Garp believes that Koby is the future of the Marines. This is, of course, a huge endorsement, especially coming from a living legend like Garp. Koby has improved a lot since his debut. His physical attributes have become much better. He has also learned to use the Armament and Observation Haki.

However, he has not been able to win a single major fight in the series. Koby has suffered humiliating losses against Luffy and Boa Hancock. But Koby has not let the losses affect him too much, as he still believes that he is capable of beating Luffy.

1 Smoker

Affiliation: Marines

Smoker avoids an attack with his Logia powers in One Piece

  • Devil Fruit: Moku Moku no Mi
  • Haki: Yes

Smoker debuted in Loguetown as a Navy Captain, but quickly rose through the ranks and secured the position of Vice Admiral. Smoker is a recurring character who has been involved in countless battles with Luffy. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that he has made it his goal to capture Luffy.

Smoker possesses the Moku Moku no Mi, a Logia-type devil fruit, which gives him the power to create and control smoke at will. Although it is not the best Logia-type devil fruit, Smoker has learned to use the power efficiently. Additionally, Smoker can use two types of Haki. Even with all his powers, Smoker has not won a major battle in One Piece. His screen time has also decreased, so it is unknown when fans might see him again.
