Two years after the release of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, the Switch games are still the most recent in the series, excluding TCG Pocket. There are no new Pokemon Switch games coming until 2025, which means if you want a new Pokemon game to play this holiday season, it has to be Scarlet or Violet, and right now you can get both for less.

There was a time in Pokemon history where its tandem games were combined into one after the original titles had been on the market for a while, Yellow and Platinum being two of the most popular examples.
