Recently retired Playstation Lead, Shuhei Yoshida, revealed that she was a “big fan of Nintendo” and was also influenced by the latter's games during his decorated career. The Japanese veteran offered goodbye to Playstation on January 15, 2025, after working there for over three decades.
Being a veteran of the sector, Shuhei Yoshida is a very popular figure and one of the team members who worked on the original playstation console. Throughout its 31 -year period at the Console manufacturer, he contributed to the company in different roles, from being the president of the Sie Worldwide Studios for more than a decade to be the head of the playstation indie in his final role. In the latter role, he has constantly provided screams to various independent games on his social media channels and, above all, has guided incubation programs “Hero Project” in all countries, such as India and China. Yoshida announced for the first time his decision to leave PlayStation in November 2024, before officially starting at the beginning of this month. In an interview with Minnmax, Yoshida shared that “he grew up playing” Nintendo Games, describing himself as a big fan of The Switch Maker. He revealed the influence that Nintendo Games had on him during his period at PlayStation and said that “they helped him” to understand “what is important” in the genre of platform. In addition, he spoke of “friendly” relationships between the two rivals of the console, expressing his passion for the legendary figures of Nintendo, such as the former president of Satuy Iwata and Mario Creator Shigeru Miyamoto.

Revisiting some of his memorable interactions spent with the managers of Nintendo, Yoshida revealed by discussing games on display with Miyamoto in an E3 event and spoke of another example in which the latter played a demo of Horizon Zero Dawn. In addition, he shared his “really good” experience of attending a Keynote of Iwata in one of the events of the GDC. In a fun way, the PlayStation veteran also shared by playing a game of 1-2-SWITCH With a Nintendo manager at the time of the launch of the switch.
