There are so many details in the world of One piece. Overall, the amount of attention put into every plot element and moving piece in the world makes for some amazing storytelling and world-building. However, because of this, it can often be a little difficult to keep track of every little detail One pieceespecially the one that happened many years ago.
This is exactly the case with the Ohara Library books, which only appeared a few times in the series but have great importance to the overall plot of the series. With the reappearance of Jaguar D. Saul in The one from One Piece Elbaf Arc and his reunion with Robin, it's only a matter of time before the Straw Hats' archaeologist discovers the books of his home island. However, many fans may need a quick refresher on what the Ohara books are and what they could mean for the future of One piece.

The World Government considered it a threat
During The one from One Piece Enies Lobby Arc, fans were introduced to Robin's extremely dark backstory. Hailing from an island of scholars called Ohara, Robin, despite being a brilliant scholar herself, was an outcast child with a mysterious devil fruit. During his journey of self-discovery, he meets Jaguar D. Saul, a former Navy vice admiral, and the two quickly become friends. At the same time, Robin also learns the ancient language of the Poneglyphs, something that is considered forbidden knowledge by the World Government.

However, due to the illegal research the Ohara scholars were conducting The one from One Piece of the ancient Poneglyph, the World Government decided to destroy the island, using the infamous and destructive Buster Call. As fans would later discover, this wasn't entirely true. Later, it was revealed that Jaguar D. Saul had survived his encounter with Kuzan and continued to save the library books. Subsequently, the former Navy officer enlists the help of the New Giant Pirates to recover the books and bring them to the island of Elbaf, the island of the Giants. From here, the books were kept safe from the clutches of the World Government, where they now rest in the modern era One piece.

Robin's motivation in One Piece is about his desire to preserve history and explore the true history that the World Government has attempted to hide. For Robin, the loss of the Ohara Library was another major loss in his quest to discover the Void Century, as it simply became another part of history that the World Government had erased. Now that it has been reclaimed, Robin can preserve the history that his ancestors and his family of Ohara scholars worked so hard to cultivate.

In the end, while the revelations in the library of The one from One Piece Elbaf may not be the most shocking, it will be interesting to see what information the books contain. While it might be small, it might also reveal small details of the Void Century or Ancient Weapons. However, what it includes doesn't matter as much as the small victory these books will give Robin, who now has a much better chance of preserving Ohara's knowledge for future generations in One piece.
