The Black Ops 6 Zombies holiday event isn't going well

Summary

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's Jingle Hells event isn't going over well with fans.

  • Many complain about the unfair difficulty, lack of rewards, and disappointing new additions.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies celebrates the holiday season with the return of Jingle Hells from Cold War.

This time it's a complete overhaul of the Liberty Falls map, removing the mystery box, crafting tables and arsenal machines, also implementing a strange chewing gum called Holiday Cheer, snowballs, the Naughty or Nice power-up , snowmen, presents and a new round of the cold front.

What players think: “Terrible” and “boring”

The event, however, is not pleasing the fans, who, to put it plainly, claim that it “sucks”.

“No scrap means you're stuck with your shitty gun, betting on not-shitty guns in giveaways, or betting on wall buys that manage to roll the roll to refresh every five rounds,” posted Reddit user DukeOfTheDodos. “The aesthetics of Jingle Hells suck, don't get me wrong, but the gameplay is absolutely atrocious.”

“It's extremely boring and soulless, it wasn't funny at all and it was just annoying,” LALALANDabc responded. “Vermin's shots are horrible. They made it look like it was going to be a blizzard, no, slow down and let Vermin eat you.”

“I'm playing with two friends and we all lost ground in the 11th round […] and I went straight back to normal mode,” SirHaydo added. “It sounds great but the whole approach is terrible.”

While there are many similar posts gaining traction on the subreddit, pointing out the lack of rewards and overly challenging gameplay, there are others who enjoy the difficulty and are playing the mode simply for fun, not for unique calling cards or even XP .

“I see so many posts about the challenge in Jingle Hells and players think there's no point in doing it because they don't get any rewards,” Raidmax460 posted. “That's what Zombies was all about. It's an endless horde mode, it doesn't need rewards, it's just an added bonus.”

However, commentators argue that the problem with the difficulty is not that it is excessive, but that it is unfair.

“They made it similar to classic mode, but kept most of the changes from regular Zombies mode, such as hit range,” litllerobert commented. “If you can't get plates, make them have shorter range. If you can't increase the rarity of your weapon, make them [Pack-a-Punching] it's worth at least five times more so I can get it back […] Obviously the mode will become much more difficult when all they do is simply remove the fundamentals.”

Clearly, Jingle Hells is already proving incredibly divisive.

Forced to become a thief. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 1990s, a time of transition and upheaval in global politics, marked by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower. With a mind-bending narrative and unconstrained by rules of engagement, this is typical Black Ops.

The Black Ops 6 campaign offers dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of game spaces with blockbuster scenes and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists and swashbuckling espionage.

In a world-class multiplayer experience, players will test their skills on 16 new maps at launch, including 12 6v6 main maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.

Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will eliminate hordes of the undead in two all-new maps at launch. After launch, players can expect even more exciting maps and game-changing experiences in both Multiplayer and Zombies modes.
