Weapons are the central aspect of Remnant 2 gameplay. They are essential tools for overcoming the hard challenges that will be thrown at you constantly. The game offers around 70 weapons throughout the world that can be either purchased, bought, crafted, or even found. These weapons fall into three main categories: Melee weapons, Handguns, and Long Guns.
Selecting the ideal weapon involves considering your chosen Archetype, your character’s build, and your preferred playstyle. However, certain weapons stand out as particularly valuable and worth considering due to their usefulness in combat situations.
Updated on November 18, 2023, by Mohamed El Ouardighi: The Awakened King release brought in several new weapon options. We’ve updated this guide to include a couple of them because it’s worthwhile, and we want to keep you in the loop.
Spectral Blade
The Spectral Blade is a super-heated laser sword. It has a decent reach and can deal a considerable amount of damage. Its unique attack unleashes a spinning flurry of slashes, which can be useful when handling a group of enemies or finding yourself cornered. Besides that, the weapon has a striking appearance with its captivating blue laser glow.
In order to craft this weapon, you must progress through the Travel to Alepsis storyline. After that, you need to get the three Seeker’s Keys to fight Sha’Hala Spectral Guardian of N’Erud. Once you defeat him, he’ll drop the Eidolon Shard. With this material in hand, you can go back to McCabe worship to craft the Spectral Blade.
Sorrow
Sorrow is a special handgun that boasts impressive accuracy making it particularly effective in medium to long-range combat. Its visual appeal matches its performance, and when fully upgraded, it inflicts more than double the base damage. What’s more, its weapon Mod, Eulogy, grants you the ability to recall bolts. This not only deals damage but also provides healing, making Sorrow a valuable secondary weapon and a reliable source of healing.
To acquire the Sorrow handgun, you must first locate the Tear of Kaeula Ring in Yaesha. This discovery leads to a confrontation with Kaeula’s Shadow. After this encounter, you’ll need to find Meidra and interact with her. By offering her the Tear of Kaeula ring, you can obtain the Sorrow handgun in return.
Rune Pistol
The Rune Pistol is a precise semi-automatic handgun that excels in rapid firing. Combining this with its good damage, range and accuracy, this handgun proves invaluable for handling multiple enemies simultaneously. Similar to Sorrow, its weapon Mod, known as Soul Brand, allows for self-healing and can extend to your teammates if you eliminate enemies marked after using the modification.
In order to get the Rune Pistol, you must first locate the Ravenous Medallion in Losomn. Afterward, follow the Marrow Parish storyline until you find the Nightweaver’s Web. Here you can exchange the Medallion for Decrepit Rune which can be used to craft the Rune Pistol at McCabe.
Enigma
Enigma stands as a special handgun that shoots lightning bolts instead of bullets. These bolts leap from one enemy to the next causing the Overloaded status. It works well in close to mid-range battles and shines in closed areas. Moreover, the Chaos Driver Mod allows you to craft a snare of electrified rods, linking together that deal shock damage to enemies struck with it.
In order to craft Enigma at McCabe, you’ll need the Cipher Rod from a hidden path in the Labyrinth.
Stonebreaker
The Stonebreaker sword stands as a top-tier melee weapon, boasting the game’s second-highest base damage. Its strikes are deadly, and during charged attacks it unleashes shockwaves for additional damage. This exceptional melee weapon serves as a potent option when your ammunition runs low.
In order to obtain the Stonebreaker, you need to defeat the Corruptor in Yaesha without killing the Guardian. This will get you the Hollow Heart. Return this crafting material to McCabe and you’ll gain the ability to craft this mighty melee weapon.
Cube Gun
The Cube Gun is an early-game handgun offering excellence in short to medium range combat. Its standout feature is its infinite ammunition, which eliminates the concerns about running out of bullets. Additionally, its noteworthy mod, Cube Shield, provides you with a shield that withstands a good amount of damage. This could be a lifesaver during boss battles.
To craft the Cube Gun, you must defeat the Labyrinth Sentinel, which will yield the Conflux Prism. Taking this to McCabe will allow you to craft this cool looking gun.
Plasma Cutter
Much like the Enigma Gun, the Plasma Cutter fires laser beams instead of bullets. With its high damage, large magazine size, and remarkable accuracy, this weapon earns a reputation as one of the most dependable choices for nearly any build. Its adaptability, absence of recoil, and effective ranged damage combine to create a lethal weapon. Additionally, its Heat Sink Mod increases gun damage while also reducing heat buildup.
You can obtain the Plasma Cutter from the Navigation Room located at N’Erud, but only after equipping the Navigator’s Helm.
Crescent Moon
While a one-shot bow might not immediately seem ideal for a game like Remnant 2, the Crescent Moon has surprises in store that could change your mind.
Firstly, it boasts high damage and accuracy, proving effective at various ranges. When fully upgraded, it deals 261 damage, and with the right accessories, you can even double this figure and enhance rapid firing. What sets this bow apart is its outstanding mod, Moonlight Barrage, likely one of the best mods available. This mod boosts damage, transforms basic attacks into fully charged shots, and changes charged attacks to fire two arrows. Moreover, it can even restore your health using Moon Essence dropped from enemies struck by the bow when the mod is active.
Acquiring this bow isn’t simple, as there’s an involved process. You must first obtain the Dreamcatcher, then use it on Nimue while she’s asleep. This grants you a consumable that transports you to an area where you can find Anamy’s Echo. Take this crafting material to McCabe, and you’ll be able to enjoy the finest bow the game has to offer.
Anguish
Anguish is a recent addition from the Awakened King DLC release, and it’s a potent handgun that serves multiple purposes. Primarily functioning as a shotgun, it’s ideal for close to medium-range encounters and deals good damage. Alternatively, when you charge the bullet, it releases an explosive rod that damage all nearby enemies, but it comes at the cost of a small health amount.
It’s essential to note that the longer you charge the weapon, the more health it depletes. Therefore, be sure to only charge it briefly to unleash the explosive shots.
The special weapon mod, Loath The Weak, lets you use the weapon as a machine gun, firing rapid-fire needles that explode after a short moment upon impact, causing damage to enemies. And the best part? It doesn’t cost you any ammo while in this mod, so you can spam it until the mod time runs out. Having three weapons in one – what could be better?
To obtain this weapon, you’ll need to complete the Dranception event.
Merciless
Merciless is a high damage weapon that truly shines in terms of rapid firing. It’s most effective when used in short to medium range engagements. This Long Gun boasts high accuracy and a decent magazine size. Its unique selling point is the built-in Bleed effect, which stands out due to its potency within the game. Moreover, the Bloodline Mod empowers the Merciless to unleash a devastating blast capable of penetrating all enemies in front of you. Each impaled enemy gets an extra 50 percent damage making it particularly valuable when you find yourself cornered or facing a group of foes.
To craft the Merciless, you need to defeat the Corrupted Ravager only under specific requirements to obtain the Crimson Membrane. Taking this crafting material to McCabe will allow you to forge this weapon with its impactful Bleed effect.
Nightfall
The Nightfall is a high damage firearm that truly excels in short to medium range battles and offers rapid firing capabilities. When fully upgraded, it becomes an unstoppable force. The true highlight of this weapon is its Mod called Dreadwalker. This mod enables you to almost become invisible, making you harder to target while moving.
Additionally, the Nightfall gains a suite of benefits: infinite ammo, a 25 percent increase in fire rate, ten percent Lifesteal, and the weapon becomes fully automatic. With the right build and some practice, this weapon solidifies its position as one of the most powerful guns obtainable in Remnant 2.
To acquire this intimidating-looking firearm, you must defeat The Nightweaver in Losomn and obtain the Cursed Dream Silks. As usual, bring this crafting material back to McCabe to craft the Nightfall.
Monarch
Monarch stands out as another powerful addition from the Awakened King arsenal. This Long Gun features a built-in harpoon crafted for snaring foes. With its sizable magazine, it fires bullets rapidly and excels at dealing damage from any range.
But here’s the kicker: the Chain of Command, the weapon’s mod, transforms it into Harpoon Mode. This marks a target, turning your regular shots into homing rounds, albeit with a 15 percent reduction in damage and built Influence. Essentially, you can shoot in any direction, and the bullets find their way to your enemies.
In addition, the ability to toggle the mod on or off is a significant advantage and we don’t see it in a lot of weapons in Remnant 2.
When the Influence gauge is full, the Monarch automatically reloads and unleashes a shockwave. Additionally, your character gains a 20 percent damage boost and infinite reserve ammo, all lasting for 20 seconds. To acquire this weapon, you’ll need to navigate through the entire Awakened King and defeat the One True King to obtain the Agony Spike required for crafting. Once you have it, head to McCabe to craft the weapon.
A weapon that not only shoots for you but also boasts an infinite magazine, what more could you ask for?
