Although they share a passion and responsibility towards nature, Viera can vary in personality and disposition. As a result, throughout the series' history, players have seen them take on a multitude of roles, from cat burglars, assassins, and archers.

Being an active part of the Ritz Malheur clan, Shara's traits are consistent with the rural environment of the Viera people. Dressed in relatively typical woodland garb and being an incredibly skilled archer, her appearance is fairly typical with other traditional Viera. Creating a strong affinity with Ritz throughout the game's narrative, making her fear of insects transparent to the player, Shara's harsh exterior is slowly peeled away to reveal the thoughtful and fallible being beneath.

Fran and Mjrn's older sister and elder Viera of Eruyt Village

While many of the Viera that players interact with in the Final fantasy franchises are those who have ignored the ways of their natives, Jote stands firm as a stoic reminder of the culture and customs of the rabbit race. Although she is the elder of two other important Viera characters Final Fantasy 12 – being Fran and Mjrn – her position as the Elder of Eruyt Village means she is equally memorable.

Although her position as Village Elder requires her to remain calm and collected in the face of challenges, this can have the effect of portraying her as cold and distant. However, the love she feels for her two sisters, who left the village in stark defiance of the Viera law, saddens her as she must uphold the traditions and boundaries of her culture.

3 Krjn

A founding member of the Centurio clan and a skilled fighter

Wearing dark armor and a disturbingly designed mask, Krjn's stoicism as one of the founders of the Centurio Clan is on full display when players first meet her in Final Fantasy 12. Being very protective of her clan, sister, and community, she helps players help her people.

Specifically, when players are sent to hunt down a Rank VII Malboro called Carrot, their navigation and battle skills are key to discovering and defeating the large beast. Playing a relatively minor speaking role, her position as the hallmark of the Clan leads her to travel where she is needed, which is why she most likely finds it necessary to help kill Madame Zammadria's “scandalous” blunder.

After falling in love and falling into grief, Mydia becomes possessed by Feolthanos the Eternal and her anger is focused on her own people. The Feol subspecies of Viera, which are found in Final Fantasy 12: Revenant Wings, living in hiding: this is what pushed Mydia to venture beyond the borders of her homeland. However, before dying, Feolthanos channels his emotions to commit genocidal acts against his own Viera people. Although Feolthanos is definitively defeated in his Jubilant form, the damage from his control over Mydia has already been done and as a result the people of Feol Viera are seemingly wiped out of existence.

1 Fran

The floppy-eared cat burglar who works alongside Balthier

Arguably the most memorable Viera in the entire franchise, Fran has become a fan-favorite character thanks to her courageous nature and hidden tender side. First appeared in Final Fantasy 12 Along with fellow night thief Balthier, Fran's driving skills and easy-going attitude have meant she has appeared in numerous spin-offs since her debut.
