The best team members to benefit Hu Tao in Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact is essentially a team building game. While there are powers like Eula, who can perform well without proper teammates, the real stars of the game are those who can synergize and utilize other great characters.

While HuTao
she's not that strong on her own, her ability to activate Vape on each of her charged attacks makes her one of the strongest DPS characters in the game. However, you may need a few characters to see it in all its glory. Here are the characters you can use to create the best Hu Tao team!

Candace

Candace
he has long been a character without a proper team. While his elemental ability was a simple parry with no synergy, his ability to provide Hydro Infusion to his teammates with his Elemental Blast allowed for some niche teams, such as Xingqiu

All she needs is the Hydro application off the field, something that grants her her sixth constellation.

Any DPS benefits from an Anemo teammate, as they are able to contain Viridescent Venerer, one of the strongest artifact sets in Genshin Impact. This set reduces enemy RES to the Swirled element and Sucrose
she herself grants a DMG boost, as well as a bonus to Elemental Mastery to her teammates when using her Elemental Blast.

However, using an Anemo character with Hu Tao can be tricky. Since Hu Tao cannot apply Pyro without putting his abilities on cooldown, you must use a second Pyro unit as Bennett

You can double the vortex by applying Pyro to yourself with Bennet's Burst and applying Hydro to an enemy. This boosts both your Pyro and Hydro DPS, making Kazuha an extremely strong choice for teams that primarily use Yelan.

Kazuha also has another advantage over sucrose. Where Sucrose basically needs Xingqiu to keep up with Hu Tao's rapid Pyro application, Kazuha can infuse Hydro into her Burst while spinning Pyro, allowing even characters like Yelan or Furina to have enough Hydro application to vaporize all hits by Hu Tao.

Bennett

Hu Tao doesn't work well with healers. He gains a huge DMG bonus when below half HP, and losing this can greatly reduce his DPS. However, if you find yourself dying often, put Bennett
on the team as a healer allows Hu Tao to have a good amount of health while making up for the loss of DPS due to Bennett's huge ATK boost.

If you have Bennett's 6th Constellation, it becomes an even better support for Hu Tao, granting her a huge 15% Firework DMG bonus. Bennett's previous constellations also help, increasing his ATK buff.

Since Hu Tao can't use healers, you need a shield to play her comfortably. Unfortunately, not many shield characters can provide Hu Tao with anything other than survival. Instead, some characters, like Thomas

With Xiangling, you'll play with a team of Mono Pyros, focusing on raw damage instead of elemental reactions. You don't have to worry about things like correct rotations, animation cancellations, spinning the correct element, or even using Hu Tao's charged attacks, so this team might feel more comfortable to play with. While Hu Tao's personal DPS is much lower, Bennett and an Anemo can buff both Xiangling and Hu Tao, allowing the two to not only keep up with but, at times, even surpass the other team's DPS.

We mentioned Hu Tao's need for shields, and there is no character with a stronger shield than Zhongli. Such a powerful shield allows you to keep Hu Tao at low HP without worrying about dying. It also lets you save stamina for his charged attacks, as you don't need to dash to dodge enemy attacks.

If you're confident you can dodge enemy shots without taking damage, other options are better from a DPS perspective.

Zhongli also reduces all elemental RES for enemies, giving Hu Tao another huge buff. Additionally, you can slap it with a supporting artifact like Tenacity of the Millileth, Noblesse Oblige, or even Archaic Petra to make your Hu Tao deal even more damage.

Additionally, it also increases Yelan's DMG if he is on the team by reducing enemy Hydro RES, also allowing you to use Hydro RES to further increase both Yelan and Hu Tao's DPS.
