Rest 2 offers many possible builds to allow players to customize their gameplay, and they all depend on the archetypes you have equipped. But there are also many weapons, amulets, and rings that you can combine to modify these archetypes and prioritize certain damage types or stats.

Updated October 21, 2024 by Lucas Simons: With its latest expansion The dark horizonthe game has become even more fun for those who want to create awesome builds to enjoy killing countless enemies. The endgame modes Triple Treat, Trial by Fire, and The Gauntlet are perfect for trying out more powerful Archetype combinations, and since there's been a notable change to some abilities, an old combo from past expansions has become viable again, thanks to the addition of new accessories and weapons and general rebalancing. Let's take a look at what's new in terms of enhanced builds.
This list contains spoilers for The Dark Horizon DLC.
6 Sharpshooter died for rights
It returned as the most powerful build
- Strong Points: Great weak point and critical damage, seems cheesy
- Weak points: Soft and low survivability, glass cannon
- The best weapons: Monorail – Redeemer
The combination of Hunter and Gunslinger has never been more powerful with the addition of some items such as the powerful Monorail Rifle, which can be obtained after defeating Alepsis Taura in The Dark Horizon DLC. This powerful long gun is capable of firing high-damage accelerated particles, which deal increased damage to weak points. This, paired with the Gunslinger and Hunter passives, gives this gun an extra edge and additional stats like reload speed, stability, and effective range. Additionally, its built-in mod called Recoil Dampener stabilizes the weapon, increasing its charge speed by 25% and reducing its recoil and sway by 75%.
Since the Monorail is a charge weapon, this mod also provides an additional 5% critical chance for every 1% or charge meter filled after firing. This, combined with all the passive aspects of Gunslinger (Swift Shot, Quick Hands) and Hunter (especially Deadeye Perk) will ensure that every shot players land on a weak point is lethal. Complete this build with the new Timewave mutator, to create a safe bubble that stops time around players when they activate the Weapon mod. This will allow them to shoot bosses, even if they require additions (as many bosses do). Or, if players are looking to maximize damage, they can equip the Slayer mutator, which increases damage after a cooldown, and since the monorail charge mechanic is considered a cooldown, that means a lot of extra damage on each hit. Complete the build with the new Redeemer revolver for the ultimate Western Sharpshooter experience, players won't regret this choice.
5 High-tech blacksmith
Upgrade the Vulcan turret and mow down your enemies
- Strong Points: Great firepower and rate of fire
- Weak points: Slow movement, vulnerable in corners
- The best weapons: Alpha/Omega – Technology 22
The High Tech Barrelsmith build combines the Engineer's powerful gadgets with the Gunslinger's massive weapon damage and rate of fire boosts, turning a full burst from your Vulcan machine gun turret into a spray of lethal, health-sapping projectiles of any boss in seconds. Its main advantage is High Tech, which allows you to overload each of the Engineer's abilities, granting him infinite ammo, rate of fire and damage for a limited duration.
If players combine this with the Gunslinger's Bulletstorm ability, they get a tremendously powerful barrage of bullets capable of destroying anything and anyone. To optimize this build, choose amulets and rings that provide weak point damage, rate of fire, and weapon damage. The Tech 22 pistol is particularly powerful at tearing apart smaller opponents, especially those trying to rush players. Consider bringing it equipped with the Bandit mutator for ammo efficiency as it spits projectiles like a beast, and the Overflow Mod, which turns this weapon into a powerful Shock delivery system that will grant even more crowd control and cleaning skills to players.
4 Die-hard conservative
Become an unstoppable killing machine
- Strong Points: Resilience, great at melee range
- Weak points: Slow, not optimized for ranged combat
- The best weapons: Vice Grip, Atom Crusher
The Die Hard Conservator build can be acquired by combining the Challenger's resilience and the AoE buffs of the Alchemist archetype. This build will make you functionally immortal, if you play it right, of course. His main abilities are Juggernaut and Phial: Elixir of Life. Juggernaut grants massive melee damage and turns you into an unstoppable bruiser, while Vial: Elixir of Life creates a healing circle where you're literally incapable of taking lethal damage. If you happen to run out of this buff, don't worry, as the Die Hard primary perk will activate, granting you immunity to lethal damage.

Remnant 2: How to Solve the Forgotten Field Puzzle
Remnant 2 is packed full of challenging puzzles. For those who are having difficulty with the Forgotten Field puzzle, this guide provides the solution.
You can complete this build with any fast weapon, such as Claws or Knuckes – Vice Grips are especially useful with the build. Additionally, the Lucky Cat ring can give you an extra chance to avoid lethal damage (that's 3 cases of immortality in total). Rally Band and Thalos Eyelet will help you manage gray health chunks and steadily recover your HP as you fight, and the Brawler's Pride ring is invaluable for increasing your melee speed. The Life Siphoner trait also helps a lot for this build.
3 Ruthless beast dominator
Increases the damage dealt by your Reaver summoner and your pet dog
- Strong Points: Summon maximum power + Dog
- Weak points: Soft, vulnerable when cornered
- The best weapons: Crescent Moon, Corrupted Rune Gun, Reaper Scythe
The Ruthless Beastmaster build can be made by combining the Summoner and Handler archetypes. Its main perk is Merciless, which allows you to increase the damage done by your minions by shooting them friendly. Using the Summoner's Reaver ability and the Trainer's Support Dog, you can constantly make your Summons more powerful while the Dog will make sure it stays healthy by constantly healing them. Equip Soul Link to benefit from the damage dealt by your minions and create a perfect synergy.
Use weapons like the Crescent Moon or the Corrupted Rune Gun, which can debuff enemies and mark them for additional damage. This build is tremendous fun to play, especially against bosses, who will be too busy being harassed by the Reaver and the Dog to worry about your debuffs. Rally Band and Thalos Eyelet will help you manage gray health chunks, constantly recovering your HP as you fight. The addition of the Harvester Scythe and its inherently powerful Mod, which adds a lot of crowd control and adds clarity to the mix, allows this build to focus on managing its summons and avoiding being cornered at the worst possible moments. Great find from the new N'erud map in The dark horizon DLC.
2 Shadow Professional
Teleport and Sniper: Rinse and repeat
- Strong Points: High evasion. Mobility, sniper
- Weak points: Not good at crowd control
- The best weapons: Sagittarius, Pulse Rifle
So, do you want to be a ninja? Then the Shadow Professional build is for you: combine Invader and Gunslinger to create the perfect boogeyman. With the Invader Worm Hole, you can move and distance yourself from enemies, constantly taking them down with long-range weapons. So, the Gunslinger's Sidewinder ability can help you instantly reload while switching weapons, granting you greater mobility.

Rest 2: Where to find soul sparks
To progress through Remnant 2's main story, players may need to find a container containing the last hope of an entire civilization.
Shoot, move away and then shoot again. Tactical repositioning is certainly the strong point of this build, but be careful: it's easy to stay with your back against the wall and lose sight of the escape route. To avoid this, equip accessories that grant extra mobility and the Destroyer's Mark to take advantage of the extra perfect dodge buff granted by the Invader main perk. This way, every time you dodge, you create an AoE (like a ninja smoke bomb) that deals considerable damage to your enemies.
1 Storm Luminary
Become a God of Lightning
- Strong Points: Higher DC Reduction + Skill Damage
- Weak points: Soggy, low stamina regeneration
- The best weapons: Pulse Rifle, Nebula
The ultimate build for those who love to crush their enemies with powerful abilities. The Storm Luminary is a combination of the Archon archetype with the Engineer. Both are heavily focused on cooldown reduction and skill power, but the Archon class is especially good with its mod power generation traits and its main perk called Storm, which constantly generates Mod energy. For your skill main, you should choose the Havoc Form, which transforms you into a furious lightning beast, capable of hurling lightning and teleporting short distances.
Additionally, we recommend choosing the Vulcan Turret to cover your back while you rampage through waves of enemies. For consistent damage, choose Nebula or Monarch as your main weapon. You can choose any secondary as long as you equip the Firestorm mod, which pairs perfectly with this build. The Spiritual Wisp Amulet will be a constant source of mod energy recirculation; To enhance your skills and mod abilities, choose the following rings: Black Pawn Stamp, Stone of Malevolence, Sapphire Dreamstone, and Rebel's Burden. Top it all off with the Timewave Mod equipped with a Pulse Rifle, and add a Time Stopper Bubble to the build for even greater crowd control and survivability.
