The best Marshadow deck in the Pokemon Pocket TCG, explained
In Pokémon TCG Pocketmany meta decks and ace Pokemon combinations can be frustrating to deal with. Luckily, something of an anti-meta deck is now emerging, featuring Marshadow from the new Mythical Island set, as well as several other Fighting-type Pokemon. While no one can be overwhelmingly strong on their own, when incorporated into the same deck build, each Pokemon plays an important role in covering and blocking targeted opponents and using smart decisions to take down your opponents as efficiently and quickly as possible.
Marshadow plays exceptionally well as a reversal card from your Bench, thanks to its Revenge move, which deals increased damage to 100 if your opponent KOs one of your Pokemon using damage from the previous turn. This can be used smartly to keep certain meta threats like Pikachu ex in line and hit them hard. Mankey and Primeape are nice secondary additions, as the new Mythical Island Mankey card is capable of an all-or-nothing coin flip attack that deals 50 damage on a success. This makes Mankey capable of taking on a common meta choice, Druddigon, as you will hit 50 successes to take a large chunk of Druddigon's HP or fail, but will receive no incoming damage from Druddigon's Rough Skin ability. Evolving into Primeape on the next turn will allow you to KO it on the next turn if you also manage to successfully flip the coin, making it a decent way to adapt and counter this enemy.
To support Mankey/Primape, Hitmonlee is also a great addition, as this card can target the opponent's bench and potentially disrupt the strategy through the use of the Stretch Kick attack, which costs only 1 Energy and deals 30 damage to 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokemon. . Finally, Aerodactyl ex gives you a Pokemon that has a slight HP boost and the ability to interrupt some key evolutions with the Primordial Law ability, which prevents the opponent from playing a Pokemon from their hand to evolve their active Pokemon. This means they will have to hold off on evolving until they can KO Aerodactly ex or expend resources to have their active Pokemon retreat, fill the bench, evolve, and then potentially return to the active spot if needed.
