If there's one thing gamers love about Pokemon, it's Dragons. This exceptionally powerful type contains some incredible Pokemon, including Rayquaza, Dragapult, and Salamence. For Pokemon TCG Pocket, your options are a little more limited in what you can choose when building your deck.

Here are the best Pokemon ex cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket.
As it stands, there are only three Dragon-type Pokemon cards to choose from, all in the Dragonite evolutionary line. We'll take a look at all three cards to see how they stack up against some of the other popular cards in the game, along with a bonus look at a Rare Art you can find.

Dratini – Genetic apex
A simple Pokémon with big dreams
Let's start with the common basic Pokemon (a diamond rarity), Dratini. This cute little Pokemon is known as the Dragon Pokemon and aspires to evolve into one of the most powerful Pokemon in Pokemon TCG Pocket.
With 70 HP, Dratini can withstand a hit or two from some of the stronger Basic Pokemon commonly found in decks, though you'll want to quickly evolve it into Dragonair to keep it safe. Genetic Apex's Dratini has only one attack, Ram, which deals 40 damage, which is at the upper limit for a Basic Pokemon's attack range. The downside is that it costs two Energy, one Water and one Electricity.
One of the best things about Dragon-type cards so far is that they have no weaknesses, at least for the Dratini line in Genetic Apex. As more sets are released, this may change, but so far you should be safe from any bonus damage from your opponent's attacks.
3
Dragonair – Genetic pinnacle
Setting up victory
Evolving your Dratini into Dragonair gives you a huge boost in power, while also enjoying a nice HP boost. The Phase 1 card comes with 100 HP and a single attack, Tail Smack, which deals a respectable 80 damage to your opponent's Active Pokemon.

Tail Smack only costs one more Colorless Energy than Dratini's Ram attack, so it doesn't take long to get there. If you manage to follow up a Dratini attack with Dragonair's Tail Smack, you'll likely KO your opponent's Pokemon, dealing a total of 120 damage. Unless your opponent has some of the highest HP EX cards or highest evolution lines, you're probably looking for a point.
The nice thing about Dritini and Dragonair is that they both have a single Colorless Energy retreat cost. You can reduce this cost to zero by using an X Speed Trainer card, allowing you to return it to the bench to recover or store more energy while another Pokemon fills the active spot.
2
Dragonite – Genetic apex
Master the Draco meteor
At the top of the Dragon-type cards currently available in Pokemon TCG Pocket, Dragonite is an extraordinarily powerful card that has an unmatched attack. Draco Meteor costs four Energy, one Water, one Electric, and two Colorless, but can deal a total of 200 points of damage. That damage is randomly split between up to four of your opponent's Pokemon, both Active and Benched.
A single Pokemon can be chosen more than once, but you will generally hit two to three different Pokemon with Draco Meteor. Those enemy Pokemon take 50 damage whenever chosen this way, which deals a significant amount of damage across the board.

Pokemon Pocket: ranking of each supporter
Perfect supporter cards can really change the way your deck plays. Let's take a look at all the fan cards in the game and rank them.
Since Dragonite has 160 HP, you'll probably be able to land one or two attacks since there aren't many Pokemon that can take it out with a single attack, even with a Giovanni Supporter card. While rare, it is entirely possible to score all three of your points in one attack depending on what your opponent's board looks like.
1
Dragonite Rare Illustration – Genetic Apex
Give yourself a little style
There's no mechanical difference between the illustrated rare Dragonite and the regular rare Dragonite, but it looks much cooler on the battlefield as it tramples your opponents. The illustration, by Pokemon TCG veteran Gemi, depicts the flying Dragon-type soaring over the ocean with the setting sun behind it, several boats sailing across the sea, and a meteor shower overhead.
The big downside to the Dragonite Rare Illustration is that it has an incredibly low drop rate in packs, meaning you won't be able to catch one for a long time. Creating one isn't an option for most free-to-play players as it costs 400 pack points, which amounts to 80 packs you'll have to open to earn those points.
All cards from the Dragonite evolutionary line and the Illustration Rare version of Dragonite are only found in Genetic Apex's Mewtwo packs, so if you're looking to build a deck around it you'll have to pick up a lot of packs to get the cards you're looking for.
