Hull breaches
Hull breaches are the first thing the game teaches you. The space lanes are populated with more trucks and signals. Travel outside the space lanes and there's all sorts of little debris you can hit. Collisions will cause small cracks in the hull on the outside of the truck.
Regularly check the truck's status on the cockpit screens to stay updated on damage. The Truck Status screen will show any violations and the hull integrity percentage. Your truck will also look dirty and damaged if you fly in third person. Hull breaches are very dangerous as they will lead to loss of oxygen from the cab of your truck. Run out of oxygen and you will be picked up at the nearest station. You will then face a hefty recovery fee.
Once you receive a hull breach, you must manually repair it. Put on your spacesuit and exit the airlock. Your HUD will show you where the breaches are. You will need the suit's energy to repair any breaches. The power of the suit is represented by the lights on the left side of the HUD when wearing the spacesuit.
Update shops
Repairing small breaches will not fix the overall condition of the hull. For this, you will have to visit a truck upgrade shop. There will usually be one at the central station in every area.
Dock to update station and choose to repair your hull. This will be free until the warranty on your truck expires. Once it expires at 80,000 miles, you'll have to pay cash to get it fixed. You can also purchase upgrades to make your hull stronger and more resistant to damage.
