Star Rail's time control mechanism explained

When Amphoreus was first revealed, there were rumors about it Honkai: StarRail would include time bending which is said to be a key gameplay mechanic in the chapter. This was intriguing because it would be the first time for Honkai: StarRail and there was a lot of speculation about how it would work during exploration and/or combat.

During the recent Honkai: StarRail Version 3.0 special program stream, the developers revealed that Trailblazer will have the ability to control the weather in some areas of Amphoreus. The opening snippets show how the unique mechanic works, which actually plays an important role in the story of the next story arc.

Recent leaks have revealed Honkai's full kit: the first batch of Star Rail Memosprites for version 3.0, as well as possible future summoning units.

Trailblazer's time control ability is a big deal in Amphoreus

Amphoreus is a mysterious dystopian world that survived a thousand-year war between Titans and mortals. When the crew of the Astral Express arrives, they will encounter a group of heroes known as the Chrysos Inheritors, whose mission is to obtain the Titans' Coreflames, so they can restore the planet to its former glory. Amphoreus also has influences from Greek mythology, evident in the characters, locations, and even gameplay.

As mentioned, one of the main game mechanics of Honkai: StarRailAmphoreus' story arc is the Pathfinder's ability to control time, also known as Oronyx's Prayer. Oronyx is known as the Titan of Time, who rules Amphoreus' past, present, and future and also safeguards his memories. Second Honkai: StarRailTrailblazer is able to utilize the Titan's power through a phenomenon known as the Miracle of Oronyx, allowing them to recreate past illusions and restore certain objects to their original state.

This gives them the ability to see visions of the past which can help them reconstruct ways to reach certain areas, and in some cases, timelines can converge and the Trailblazer can see the past and present states of the map.

The rewind ability allows them to freeze time at the right moment to create walkways, clear debris, and even stop Zagreus, a mischievous thief, from stealing a treasure chest from the overworld. This new game mechanic is quite similar to Life is strange AND Life is Strange: Double Exposureof bending time, where players can use these abilities to solve puzzles.

The Miracle of Oronyx: A phenomenon used by followers of the Titan of Time to create illusions, change reality, and return objects to their past states.
Oronyx's prayer: A rewind power that the Trailblazer can use to return objects to their past state. This can be used on memory-charged objects, which display a surge of energy indicating that Oronyx's Prayer can be used there.

It is not yet known whether the time control mechanic will be available throughout Amphoreus or just in a specific area similar to Penacony's Dreamscape. Honkai: StarRail the developers also teased that there will be a special map in the Amphoreus update where the Trailblazer “will be able to experience the past and present in all its glory.”

Likewise, the importance of this power is still hidden, which could be a clue that Oronyx's presence could be a big problem in the long term. This is interesting because it is said that March 7th could play an important role Honkai: StarRail Version 3.0 due to an unannounced character in his likeness known to their Divine Authority, “Oronyx, Veil of Evernight”. For now, players will just have to wait until Honkai: StarRail Version 3.0 will launch on January 15th to learn more about Amphoreus and everything in it.
