STALKER 2: The Heart of Chernobyl It's certainly not for the faint of heart. As if the murderous mutants and anomalies littering the Zone weren't enough of a risk, the various warring factions vying for control of the Zone, each with their own particular ideologies they want to impose, are perhaps the most dangerous threat of all. Nowhere is this better exemplified than through the mad monolithic shaman of the noosphere, Faust.
After the first assault on Duga, in which Faust uses his illusory clones and activates the colossal structure, Skif will be forced to retreat and regroup before facing him again, both with the Spark and Ward factions. The choices will affect the beginning of the mission rather than the end, and in both cases will result in a battle against Faust. The combat is not as simple as it might seem at first glance and you will have to be aware of your surroundings and shoot accurately to defeat it and progress.

STALKER 2: Best Weapons, Ranked
As players battle through the Zone in Stalker 2, here are the best weapons to keep in their arsenal.
Where to find Faust
The fight with Faust takes place on the roof of the Duga Comm Center. First, he will appear in the lower levels with several zombies under his control and will use the mind-warping abilities of the controllers to distort your vision before escaping. Follow his running path and watch out for both zombies and monolithic guards. Collect as much ammo as you can find for your available weapons as you will need it for the next fight.
Go through the room with the lantern/emitter and up the stairs to the roof. It should be relatively easy to find your way to the roof, but be prepared to fight guards all the way up. Be sure to stock up on all the resources available in the lower room before climbing onto the roof itself.

How to defeat Faust
The first thing you'll notice when fighting Faust is that you're really just fighting simple ghosts. No amount of psi blocking or helmet upgrades can counter this effect. Instead, you will have to destroy the various lanterns positioned around the roof and, if necessary, you can completely ignore the illusory clones of Faust. Defeating them can be a good way to get more ammo, although it will likely cost more than it returns. Instead, targeting the lanterns (a rifle is recommended) will break the illusion and actually make Faust spawn.
In this second phase he will have a lantern/emitter tied to his thigh. Repeatedly shooting this device will cause it to fail until Faust can be damaged. Without first deactivating the lanterns on the roof and then the leg device, Faust will be able to constantly regenerate his health and resist any punishment you can throw at him. Once they have been destroyed, it will be quite simple and a cutscene will be triggered to indicate the successful completion of the fight.
