Some Disney Dreamlight Valley players aren't happy with the new Star Path

Key points

  • Some Disney Dreamlight Valley fans are disappointed that The Night Show Star Path isn't Halloween themed.
  • Others have also taken issue with the fact that the concert stage that is part of the upcoming Battle Pass is not walkable.
  • The Star Path nighttime show will debut as part of the Jungle Getaway update, hitting Disney Dreamlight Valley on October 9th.

A vocal subset of the Disney Valley of Dreams The player base recently took to social media to air some complaints about The Night Show Star Path. A significant portion of these complaints appears to stem from the fact that many Disney Valley of Dreams fans were hoping to get a Halloween-themed Star Path in October 2024.

Since its Early Access debut in September 2022, Gameloft's hit life simulator has launched 12 Star Paths in total. These battle pass-like reward boards usually launched alongside the major Disney Valley of Dreams updates, with the sole exception of the DreamSnaps patch which didn't get one. Gameloft announced the latest Star Path game, The Night Show, in early October 2024.

But player reactions to this revelation have been quite polarized. While many fans agree that a rock concert-based Star Path is an interesting concept, they were disappointed by the timing of The Night Show's announcement. “Feels like the wrong season,” wrote Reddit user Jikasbox, adding that he's not impressed with what Gameloft has shown so far. Meanwhile someone else Disney Valley of Dreams fans have taken issue with the fact that the center stage which is part of the Star Path cannot actually be stepped on and is simply a decoration.

Many of these complaints have seen fans saying they are disappointed that October 2024's Star Path will not be Halloween-themed, feeling that rock 'n' roll is no longer dark and scary because “it's not the '50s anymore “, as one the player put it. For clarity, Disney Valley of Dreams has already announced some plans for Halloween 2024, but instead of having them revolve around a themed star trail, it's decided to commemorate the spooky season with another round of the Trick-or-Treat event, which will be available again from October 23 through 2024 end of the month.

As for The Night Show, the new Star Path will debut as part of the Disney Valley of Dreams Jungle Getaway update, scheduled for release on October 9th. Identified by version number 1.13, this version will not be Halloween-oriented but will instead introduce two The Lion King characters in the form of Timon and Pumbaa.

While The Night Show isn't what all fans were hoping for, many of them have admitted that the rewards of free moonstone and items are generous enough to motivate them to complete it regardless. Based on the track record of Gameloft, the next major Disney Valley of Dreams The update and its Star Path will likely be released at the end of December 2024.
