Question the local cats walkthrough

After completing the Hyrule Castle rift, you will receive a new outfit for Zelda Echoes of wisdom. You can now collect various outfits and change its appearance on the Equipment page in the menu. One outfit you'll want to get as soon as you leave Hyrule Castle Town is cat clothes. Not only does it look like a bizarre Hyrule mascot uniform, but the Cat Clothes allow you to talk to cats. There are several side missions Echoes of wisdom that require this outfit, one of which is “Questioning the Local Cats” in Kakariko Village.

How to get cat clothes in Echoes of Wisdom

Complete “Deliver the Fish to the Grill!”

If you talk to the old man in front of the house from the eastern gate from Kakariko Village, will give you a hint on where you can find cat clothes. Without this equipment you will not be able to complete the side quest “Interrogate the local cats”. It is also useful to have completed (or at least learned the echo of the grilled fish) the mission “Deliver the grilled fish!” side quest in Seesyde village. You will also need the Holmill Echo, which you can get during the main quest “A Rift in Gerudo Desert”.

  1. Talk to the lady in front of the shop in Kakariko village in the southeastern corner of the village to begin your quest to get the cat clothes.
  2. He will not give you the dress until he has buried an item in front of the northeast windmill. A cat happens to be napping on the tile where his treasure is buried.
  3. Interact with the cat, then use the Grilled fish eco so that it moves away from the dirty tile.
  4. Once that's out of the way, use the file Holmill Echo on patch of land to find a secret stash.
  5. You will then receive the Cat Outfit from the lady outside the shop. This can be messed with by accessing the Equipment tab in the menu.

Question the local cats walkthrough

Where is the missing cat?

In “Questioning the Local Cats”, you will have to find the old man's cat and bring it home. You will need it equip the cat's clothes and talk to the cats in Kakariko Village. If you talk to the one near the windmill to the northeast, she'll tell you to ask someone else. Head towards the Northwest Windmill near the cemetery and climb it to talk to the cat dozing on the roof. He will say that the old man's cat has traveled east and is most likely taking a nap in a tree.

Leave the east gate outside, follow the east path and you will find a tree with the cat sleeping at the top. Use your Crawler Echo (or stack tables/crates) to reach the cat and talk to him so he comes home. You can find the location of the cat in the image below (located on the Zelda icon):

Questioning the reward of local cats

Where to use refreshing grapes

echoes of wisdom that question the local cats' side quest reward

As a reward for “Interrogating Local Cats”, you will receive x10 Refreshing Grapes. You can eat them to regenerate half a heart, but it is better to use them to make smoothie. If you combine two Refreshing Grapes, you can get a Refreshing Smoothie, which restores 5 hearts. Combining a refreshing grape with another ingredient will result in a different type of smoothie with (potentially) higher recovery effects. For example, mixing a Refreshing Grape and Fresh Milk creates a Refreshing Milkshake (restores 13 hearts). Refreshing grapes are a good ingredient to have on hand if you're looking to complete the “Recipes, Please!” section. side mission.
