One of the most bittersweet aspects of the current on-demand gaming trend is the revolving door nature of the industry's largest subscription platforms. Services like Xbox Game Pass and PS Plus they receive new games every month, but also say goodbye to various titles on a regular basis. It's easy to get fascinated by new games coming to PS Plus and similar services, but while gamers anxiously await new arrivals, other titles usually go out the back door.
That's exactly what's happening this month, as PlayStation Plus is losing a whopping 18 games. Sony's on-demand service has closed the gap to Xbox Game Pass, which many still consider to have a superior game library, while also reaching a wider audience thanks to its presence on PC. Both of these platforms, however, suffer from a somewhat fickle nature, as players are constantly notified of the demise of certain titles, some of which can take a long time and are therefore unable to complete them in a short time frame. Sony releases a dozen and a half of its best games this month and needs to balance the scales with some heavy hitters.

Games releasing from PS Plus in November 2024
Saying goodbye to games is a harsh reality for these subscription services, but the exodus of PS Plus titles in November 2024 seems particularly brutal. A number of high-quality games, from AAA giants to indie darlings, will soon be leaving the platform:
- Blasphemous
- Choir
- Dragon Dogma: Dark Arisen
- Eiyuden News on the rise
- Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition
- Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix
- Prologue to the final chapter of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8
- Kingdom Hearts 3
- Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory
- Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series
- Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme vs. Maximum boost activated
- Moving
- Overcooked 2
- Red Dead Redemption 2
- Superliminal
- Disassembly
- The Sims 4: City Living
- What Remains of Edith Finch
- Wildcard football
World-famous crowd pleasers Red Dead Redemption 2 will be leaving PS Plus this month, alongside cult indie classics like Blasphemous, SuperliminalAND What Remains of Edith Finch. In particular, a series of Kingdom of Hearts the games will also be removed from the service. All these goodbyes make November 2024 one of the worst months in recent PS Plus history, so Sony is expected to release some significant replacements.
How Sony can soften the blow of the November 2024 PS Plus leaks
The group of games coming out of PS Plus this month is pretty diverse, with entries representing a range of different genres, scopes, tones, and so on. Therefore, the new PS Plus games in November should be equally diverse: perhaps a new Square Enix game could replace the many Kingdom of Hearts titles leaving the service or an ambitious story-driven title could fill the void left Red Dead Redemption 2. Some of the best games releasing this month are indie, so this sector of the industry deserves some representation too. Some games that might be a good match for PS Plus this November include:
- Elden Ring
- Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
- Frostpunk 2
- Ghost song
- Grand Theft Auto 5
- Lorelei and the laser eyes
- Neva
- Persona 3 Reload
Of course, only time will tell what PS Plus will look like in the coming weeks, but it's undoubtedly essential that Sony takes a step forward. This month's PS Plus Essentials range is decent, but not great, and with Game Pass gaining traction with the likes of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6PS Plus will have to remain competitive. If you combine these departures with some weak new arrivals, then PS Plus Extra and Premium could be seen as significantly less valuable for the time being.
