Key points
- On October 1, Pokémon GO will add new Dynamax forms of Falinks and Galarian starter Pokémon.
- Players can challenge these creatures in Max Battles.
- In Max Battles you need to collect Max Particles for strategic turn-based battles.
Pokemon GO announced the addition of four new Dynamax Pokemon, with Falinks, Scorbunny, Sobble, and Grookey becoming available on October 1. After much anticipation, Pokemon GO finally brought Dynamax variants along with the new season aptly named “Max Out,” with players able to expand their collections with new creatures.
Dynamax Pokémon first appeared between September 10 and 15, when Pokemon GO held the GO Big event. During the event, Trainers were able to challenge Charmander, Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Wooloo, and Skwovet in one-star Max Battles. Trainers who obtained one or more of these creatures will be able to Dynamax them and their evolutions in Max Battles. The event also included a new Field Research that rewarded encounters with all five creatures and Max Particles, an essential item for Trainers who want to participate in this new activity.
Now, Niantic has revealed that Falinks, Scorbunny, Sobble, and Grookey will be the next Dynamax forms to join Pokemon GO on October 1. Players will encounter Scorbunny, Sobble, and Grookey in one-star Max Battles, while Falinks can be challenged in three-star Max Battles. Lucky trainers will have a chance to find these creatures in Shiny form, and as the first batch of Dynamax creatures added to the increased, trainers who catch Falinks or the Pokemon Sword and Shield Beginners will be able to Dynamax them in Max Battles.
Pokémon GO adds Dynamax forms of Falinks and Galar Starters
While players are already familiar with how regular raids work, Max Battles have different mechanics. To join them, you need to collect Max Particles, which are also used to improve Max Moves. Particles are obtained when trainers interact with Power Spots, where Dynamax Pokémon are found, or simply by walking. When entering a Max Battle, which can be done with up to four players, the foursome can have a team of up to three Dynamax forms to challenge the boss. Unlike raids, these battles are turn-based, requiring a more strategic approach.
September is ending, but Pokemon GO Trainers will have plenty of activities to keep them busy. Shiny Zacian will debut in Legendary Heroes, the final event of the month, which runs from September 26 to October 1, and will allow Koffing to evolve into Galarian Weezing for the first time. Meanwhile, October has already confirmed some exciting activities, such as the Community Day featuring Sewaddle, which will take place on October 5, and the Galarian Expedition event, which will run from October 4 to 11 and will see the debut of Zamazenta and the Galarian birds, both in Shiny form.
