Akainu is one of the greatest antagonists of One piece and certainly a very important character, especially in the Final Saga of the story. Oda saved Akainu for this particular segment of the plot, and it stands to reason that he will carry the story forward in many exciting ways in the Final Saga, as he is one of the main antagonists who will inevitably take Akainu's place. Luffy's path, even when he becomes the Pirate King.

One Piece: Oda leaves a hint about Blackbeard's bond with Rocks D. Xebec
Blackbeard and Xebec have a huge bond. Here's what Oda has to say about them.
He is undoubtedly one of the strongest in the world, as was recently confirmed in the Vivre Cards, and of course many fans had already assumed this before too. When it comes to Akainu, usually, all the attention is on him. However, Akainu may also have a secret son that fans know very little about. This child was first hinted at at the beginning of the Final Saga and now the possibility of this child becoming more prevalent in the series is real. In the latest Vivre Cards series, Oda hinted at Akainu's daughter once again, and fans are incredibly excited to see whether or not she will become real.
Akainu's secret son hinted at in One Piece
- Akainu might be the only marine with a child
- Akainu's daughter could be part of SWORD
Avid readers or watchers of One piece might be confused as to where exactly Oda mentioned that Akainu has a son. This is natural, as this tip is more difficult to translate and often gets lost in translation. Even the most astute readers may not have gotten the hint unless they also understand Japanese. Around the start of the Egghead Island Arc, Oda introduced many interesting characters and one of them seems to have a potential connection to none other than Fleet Admiral Sakazuki. It would also make sense for Akainu to have a son, as he is quite old. Of course, Akainu's duty prevents him from caring for his potential son, but fans don't know much about that, at least for now.
I have come to save you, Koby-senpai! – Hibari
Returning to Akainu's secret son, One Piece's Egghead Island saga introduced fans to many new members of SWORD. Before the Final Saga, the only two people fans knew operated in SWORD were X Drake and Koby. However, in the Final Saga, fans are introduced to Prince Grus, Kujaku, and Hibari. It is none other than Hibari who is Akainu's daughter in One Piece. While fans might be surprised, the fact is that Hibari speaks in a very unique way in Japanese. Hibari seems to speak in Hiroshima dialect, which is very rare in One Piece. In fact, there's only one other character in the entire One Piece who uses the Hiroshima dialect, and that's none other than Akainu. Clearly, the fact that only these two individuals in One Piece use the Hiroshima dialect means that there is a connection between them, and when you think about it, the easiest connection to make here would be that Hibari is Akainu's daughter.

One Piece: Oda reveals how Shanks inherited Roger's power
Roger and Shanks had a deep history. Shanks inherited the power of the Pirate King in One Piece.
This is enough basis for this idea to make sense. However, this is not all. Many members of the sword that fans have seen so far have a connection to a former marine, with Koby and Prince Grus being the exceptions. For example, Helmeppo had his father in the Marines. Likewise, X Drake's father, Diez Barrels, was also in the Marines. Kujaku's grandmother is none other than Tsuru, which leads many fans to believe that Prince Grus probably also has a connection to the Navy and that Hibari is none other than Akainu's daughter. It would be interesting to see if this idea comes to fruition or not.
Oda reveals information about Hibari from the Marines
Hibari has much more in common with Akainu than just the dialect
While the fact that both Hibari and Akainu use the same dialect is strong enough to support the idea at the booth, that's not all. Oda recently revealed a package of Vivre Cards, which surveyed the members of SWORD.
Here he revealed another exciting detail that basically confirms to fans that Hibari and Sakazuki have a very strong bond. While not all fans will have understood this detail, it is exciting to say the least. Vivre Cards usually illustrate general facts about the various characters, such as their name, their blood type, their sea of origin, and the type of Haki they wield, among everything else. Here, Oda revealed a lot of interesting information about Hibari. For example, Hibari's sea of origin was found to be the North Blue. Of course, this alone is not enough to make any kind of connection, however, looking at Akainu's chart, it is clearly stated that his sea is also of origin is Northern Blue, which is very interesting.
I won't let any pirate escape!! – Akainu
Now, fans might think this is yet another coincidence, but then you look at Hibari's blood type, which turns out to be F, and, once again, Akainu's blood type is also F. So, all in all, Akainu and Hibari have the same blood type and come from the same sea. Furthermore, these two characters are the only two individuals in the ensemble One piece world, made up of thousands and thousands of characters, of having a Hiroshima dialect, and considering all this it is essentially a confirmation that the two are related.
Is Hibari Akainu the daughter?
The bond between Hibari and Akainu is very strong
As for how they would be related, we can't say for sure, but the most likely outcome is that Hibari is Akainu's daughter. Of course, fans usually don't expect a character like Akainu to have a child. After all, none of the navy admirals introduced to fans appear to have children. Kuzan appears to be single and unmarried right now, and the same can be said for Kizaru as well. There is nothing to indicate that these two ever married or had children. Akainu has important clues that he may have a child, which indicates that he is a married man. Coming to her relationship with Hibari, fans don't know much, but the fact that she is in the SWORD faction of the Marines seems to imply that she followed her father and wanted to dispense justice to the pirates.
That being said, Hibari is the complete opposite of his potential father. Unlike Akainu, Hibari is not cruel. In fact, he doesn't even use cruel methods while fighting. His weapon of choice, as seen so far in the story, is the vegapunk GP Gun. Using this weapon, he can neutralize the opponent's armament and essentially cripple him greatly in battle. But that's not all, as Hibari can also use Armament and Observation Haki. He is incredibly strong and his Cross Guild bounty was worth a whopping 200 million berries. Hopefully, fans will see more of her in the future and it will be confirmed whether she is truly Akainu's daughter or not.
