Super Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai offers some insights into Link from the Legend of Zelda series in response to a cosplayer's performance.

Reddit user jeff_indigo took to the site's Zelda subreddits to share his discovery of a strange-looking Sheikah Eye in Dampe's cabin. On the table in Dampe's hut, you can see a book with what looks like the Sheikah crest, but its design is slightly different. The eye and teardrop appear extremely similar to the standard version, but the triangle-shaped eyelashes above the eye are strangely absent. Jeff_indigo wondered if anyone knew why the book had this particular symbol, given its similar, but not identical, qualities.

The Book of Zelda is a repeating mystery

Zelda fans expressed curiosity about the book's presence, but were unable to provide any real answers about it. This mystery actually dates back to when the game launched and players first noticed the book, though not necessarily in this location. This object actually appears in a few places in the file 3D Time Ocarina version, included in Impa's house in Kakariko Village, just outside where the cemetery is located. The book can apparently also be found in the Potions Shop in Castle Town, as well as the Lakeside Laboratory.

Given the connection between the cemetery and the Lens of Truth, including the Sheikah iconography could be a nod to this. However, this would not explain the absence of the triangles. It's unlikely that this is an oversight, so it seems likely that this eye variant must be an entirely separate thing. In any case, even if it appears multiple times, there is no further information to be gleaned from the object or texture itself. Unless Nintendo sheds some light on the matter, it's likely just a little background glimmer that wasn't meant to be looked into in depth.
