The former developers of Disco Elysium will open two brand new studios, with one currently working on a spiritual successor to the popular role-playing game.
One of these is Reddit user SpookySocks83, who has recently spent a lot of time recreating the world of Disk Elisio in the last one Animal crossing game. Their efforts so far have produced more than a dozen areas inspired by ZA/UM's critically acclaimed role-playing game, including rooms inspired by Whirling-in-Rags' mess hall and attic, Harry's destroyed hostel room, and to the courtyard with the hanged man. The fan also recreated Evrart Claire's office and the Martinaise pawnshop from Bird's Nest Roy, both of which are instantly recognizable Disk Elisio fans.
As part of their design efforts, SpookySocks83 used both their own island home and their Animal Crossing: New Horizons villagers. Since the game's 2.0 update in November 2021, villagers' homes have been customizable, allowing players to remodel them after completing the game's main storyline. Happy home paradise DLC. SpookySocks83's designs incorporate an extremely wide variety of furniture, suggesting they played Animal Crossing: New Horizons for a fairly long time.
SpookySocks83 spent weeks recreating the Disco Elysium locations at ACNH
Reflecting on their findings, SpookySocks83 revealed that they spent weeks on these projects, noting that they worked on them “pretty regularly for about a month” whenever they had some time. The individual rooms took between 30 minutes and three hours to complete, depending on the location they intended to recreate.
