Naked Attraction shocks American viewers as it finally streams in US

Naked Attraction is quickly becoming popular among audiences in the US, where it’s finally available to stream some seven years after first airing in the UK.

The British reality series, which quietly snuck onto Max (formerly HBO Max) last week, has nabbed the top spot on the streaming platform’s “Most Popular” series list, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The NSFW dating show follows singles as they critique and eliminate potential partners solely based on their nude bodies, which are slowly revealed one body part at a time with the face going last. And, yes, full-frontal and uncomfortably graphic commentary are included — so we suggest you refrain from watching with your kids and/or parents.

While controversial, Naked Attraction has garnered popularity on social media, with users calling it the “greatest reality show of all time.”

“I’m actually begging someone else to watch the first episode of Naked Attraction on HBO. I need to talk about what I saw. I NEED to,” one wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Another added, “Naked Attraction is my new favourite show,” while a third person said, “I love Americans’ reaction when they find out about Naked Attraction. It’s hilarious.”

The series has also been a hot topic on daytime talk shows like Live with Kelly and Mark and The View. On an episode of Live this week, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos even brought it up to Ted Lasso actress Hannah Waddingham, who wasn’t as on board with the show as the rest of social media.

“I’m too kind of coy for that. Why have you been watching it?” she asked the married couple. “They start from the bottom up! Absolutely not! What are you doing? I don’t want to see the vegetation before the beauty.”

However, Ripa argued that she thinks creators of the show are “onto something here.”

“I’m gonna tell you why it’s gonna go well,” she said. “Because at end, you see them with their clothes on. They dress them up. I think to myself, ‘I would’ve gone on a date with him, only to be horrified later.’”

Meanwhile, on Monday’s episode of The View, Sunny Hostin confessed to binging the show all weekend with her husband.

“I have to admit — and I’m very embarrassed to admit — that Manny and I got so obsessed with this show that we binged it yesterday and we watched all eight episodes,” Hostin said. “I learned things I had never heard of in my life. Have you heard of a Prince Albert piercing? I didn’t know about that!”
