MultiVersus Devs Confirm News “In The Coming Months”

MultiVersus is coming back at some point. We know that much, but we still don’t have a very good idea as to when, with only a tentative release date of “Early 2024” to look forward to. Thankfully, it seems like the wait for an official update is almost over, as MultiVersus developer Player First Games has teased that we’ll finally get some more news “in the coming months”.

This was revealed in a recent Twitter post via the official Player First Games account, in which the developer thanks the community for its patience as well as the feedback players gave during the game’s very lengthy open beta. Towards the end of the message, Player First hints that more will be revealed “in the coming months” as the game gets closer to launch, though a more concrete release date was not provided.

While we still don’t know when MultiVersus will get its long-awaited relaunch, it’s nice to get a message from the developers at the end of the year just to let us know everything is still going fine with development. MultiVersus social media accounts and director Tony Huynh have been a little more active on social media recently, so we can assume that a chunky update on where the game is at isn’t too far away.

As we reach the end of 2023, we feel honored to be part of this amazing community of players and can’t wait to share more. In the coming months as we move closer to launch, we’ll be unveiling our exciting future for MultiVersus.

There’s even a possibility that the game may relaunch a lot sooner than we think. Earlier this month, MultiVersus fans were sent into a frenzy after a series of promotional stickers for a MultiVersus and McDonald’s collaboration were spotted in various different territories. MultiVersus is obviously impossible to download right now, which makes the existence of these stickers quite puzzling unless a relaunch is planned pretty soon.

For now, all we can do is let Player First cook and speculate on what might be added when the game actually returns. Dataminers have been hard at work trying to get us answers, revealing potential character additions such as the Powerpuff Girls, and even MultiVersus lead character artist Dan Eder has been teasing fans a little, claiming one new character coming to the game is “constantly angry”. Daffy Duck fans, your time is coming.
