Goat Cheese

Base Price: 400-600g

Of the cheese products you can make in the game, Goat Cheese
brings in the most gold for your effort. Granted, that’s comparing it to the Cheese
that cows help produce, but coming in first in a two-product race still means you’ve come in first.

But if you’re using Large Goat Milk
instead of the standard size, that 400g automatically goes up to 600g. If you’d like to rake in even more profits, both types of cheese can be placed into casks to age. It’s not the most profitable use of your casks, but after you’ve just upgraded your home, sticking goat cheese in there so you can sell your wine right away will help you quickly get back what you’ve paid for your basement.

Dehydrated Fruits And Mushrooms

Price Range: 600-7,910g

Dehydrated fruits and mushrooms find their way into Stardew Valley via the 1.6 update and the Dehydrator
, a machine you must purchase the crafting recipe for from Pierre. It’s possible to get a Dehydrator from other means, such as the Prize Machine in May Lewis’ home or by choosing the Mushroom Cave from Demetrius.

You need five of the same fruit or mushroom to place inside and your end product will be worth over seven and a half times more than the base price of what you placed inside. You can’t do this with a Truffle, as, in-game, they aren’t classified as mushrooms. And Grape

Once you start getting access to some premium tools, structures, and such, you’ll have to spend a lot of time spelunking so that you can find the throwing-star-looking Iridium. It has a surprising number of uses and can be turned into a decently valuable Iridium Bar by throwing it into a Furnace
.

Still, Iridium can be tricky to find, and making Iridium Bars can take quite a while to smelt, which is why there are farming options. Though the drop rates are low, you can get them off Shadow Brutes, Shadow Shamans, Purple Slimes, and Iridium Bats. You can also get it from the Statue of Endless Fortune and pick the Blacksmith profession for a price boost to 1,500 gold.

Farm Animals

Base Price Range: 1,040-20,800g

Fairy Rose Honey

Base Price: 680g

Regular Honey
(called Wild Honey in the game) is an easy-to-produce item that will appear in Bee Houses
after they’re placed around your farm every few days. However, they’ll produce flavored honey if different flowers are planted nearby, within a certain number of tiles.

If you plant Fairy Roses
nearby, which only grow in Fall, you’ll be able to produce Fairy Rose Honey. This is the most profitable of the flavors of honey, selling for a nice 952g if you have the Artisan Profession.

Ostrich Eggs And Golden Eggs

Base Price Range: 500-600g

With the 1.5 update, you can obtain two new types of eggs. Both will also fetch you a pretty penny. The first is the Ostrich Egg
, which can be obtained by solving Secret Note #10 or from Chests
in the Volcano Dungeon. You’ll need to help Professor Snail
finish the fossil sets at the Island Field Office to hatch an Ostrich Egg, though.

However, the eggs themselves sell for quite a nice bit of gold, 600g at their base price, and up to 1,440g for iridium-quality ones with the Rancher profession. However, throw them into a Mayonnaise Machine
, and they’ll produce ten batches of Mayo of the same quality.

Golden Eggs
are obtained after reaching True Perfection (100 percent completion). They’ll hatch into Golden Chickens
, which lay a Golden Egg every day. These eggs only sell for 500g, which isn’t much, but they’ll produce three gold-quality Mayo when placed in a Mayonnaise Machine, which is definitely nice.

Dino Mayo

Base Price: 800g

Speaking of the Artisan profession: many of the items on this list will require it. Some, like Dinosaur Mayonnaise
, do sell for a hefty profit at their base price. But, if you’re looking to make the most profit, the Artisan profession is incredibly helpful.

Without it, Dino Mayo sells for a very respectable 800g. However, if you pick the Artisan profession, that green condiment will sell for a beautiful 1,120g. One jar is also required for the Missing Bundle. You thought regular Mayonnaise
was a nice way to earn some money? Throw some Dino Eggs in that Mayonnaise Maker and retire in comfort.

Cooking Recipes

Price Range: 450-750g

Most dishes aren’t worth your trouble if you’re looking to make a buck. But there are two that, despite being easy to make, also sell for a decent amount. Triple Shot Espresso
is made using three cups of Coffee
, which requires five Coffee Beans in a Keg
. Buy the recipe for 5,000g from Gus
as an initial investment. If you add Qi’s Seasoning, each cup sells for 675g.

Tropical Curry
requires Coconuts
, Peppers, and Pineapple
, all of which are easy to grow in abundance on Ginger Island. You’ll need to unlock the Island Resort to buy the recipe in the first place for 2,000g. But, if you need something to spend your Qi Gems
on, Seasoned Tropical Curry sells for a reasonable 750g.

Starfruit

Base Price: 750g

If you can get your hands on Starfruit Seeds
early in the game, you should take full advantage of them. This fruit is considered one of the best ones in the entire game, and if the greenhouse is unlocked early on in the game, it can be grown all year and turned into wine and preserves for extra money.

The Starfruit
itself sells for quite a bit of gold. Normally, the price of a single fruit is about 1,125g, but if you have the Tiller profession, the price is bumped up to 1,237g.

Base Price: 565g

Continuing with animal products, many of which are worth hefty profits, you’ll find some gold in selling off the produce of your Rabbits
as well. If the rabbits in your coops like you a lot, are very happy and fed, and you get a bit lucky, they may drop a Rabbit’s Foot

With the Rancher profession, these lucky charms will sell for a nice 1,356g at Iridium quality. As a bonus, they’re loved by almost every villager when given as a gift.

Truffle Oil

Dino Mayo and Rabbit’s Feet are great, but the real profit from the world of animal products comes in the form of Truffle Oil
. This artisan product, which is made by an Oil Maker
from Truffle
that your Pigs
find, is probably the most expensive animal product in the game.

With the Artisan profession, Truffle Oil will sell for 1,491g. Without it, it still sells for a high of 1,065g. Even the Truffles themselves are nice, with Iridium-quality ones selling for 1,250g without even being turned into Oil first.

Lava Eel/Ice Pip/Blobfish

Base Price Range: 500-700g

An easy way to make a bit of money on the side while waiting for other productions to finish is to go fishing. Not only is this side hustle relaxing, but it can also be economically lucrative, especially if you hunt for the right fish.

Lava Eels
, Ice Pips
, and Blobfish
are the most profitable outside the Legendary Fish. By picking the Angler profession, an Ice Pip or Blobfish sells for 1,500g at top quality. Lava Eels sell for 2,100g at top quality. Good luck reeling them in, though.

Smoked Fish

Price Range: 60-30,000g

The 1.6 Stardew Valley update introduced the Fish Smoker
, which takes any fish you’ve caught, plus one piece of coal, and produces an edible artisan good you can keep for energy and health, gift to any of the townsfolk, or sell. Like with wine and jelly, there’s a formula to figure out how much each fish will sell for.

all hate smoked fish, but every other villager likes them. If you need a last-minute gift, throw a fish into the smoker.

And it’s a pretty straightforward math problem, literally twice what the sell price would have been if the fish was left uncooked. It does consider any professions you have that increase the sell price of fish or artisan goods, which stacks. The cheapest in terms of sell price is an Anchovy
, but throw something like a Lava Eel
or even a legendary fish in the smoker, and you can start making a lot of gold.

If you want to make some extra use of fish ponds, you can take any number of the original fish out and throw them into a fish smoker. Just leave two or more so they can eventually reproduce.

Diamonds

Base Price: 750g

Diamonds
should be everyone’s best friend in Stardew, as not only are they loved or liked by everyone, but they can easily become a passive form of income. It is found in the mines in Diamond and Gem Nodes, or even while fishing or panning, and some fish will produce them when you level up their Pond.

Once you’ve found one, keep it and place it in your first Crystalarium
, which is often a reward from the Museum to produce a new one every five days. Take the Gemologist profession to increase the selling price to 974g.

The Monster Compendium

Price: 2,000g

The Monster Compendium
is one of the many Books of Power that can be found naturally while playing the game. Particularly while fighting monsters (go figure). The first time you see it, you should absolutely read it as it gives you the power to have a chance at monsters dropping double their loot.

After that, you can read it to gain 100 EXP in your combat skill. But if you’ve finished leveling that skill up, or rather have the gold in your pocket, then you can sell it for 2,000g. You can also trade it to the Bookseller, but you have to have two copies to get either a Slime Egg-Press
or Slime Incubator
.

The Book Of Stars

Price: 2,500g

The Books of Power not only add additional powers to the game, but they can be used to give you experience points, depending on the book. And the Book Of Stars
is the most powerful of those skill-based tomes as it gives you EXP in every skill.

While it maintains value while you’re working on leveling up your skills or your masteries, after that it’s best to sell the book when you come across it. You can also trade it to the Bookseller for eight Fairy Dust
, which you may or may not find more useful to you depending on your playthrough.

Pearls

Base Price: 2,500g

Much less common than Diamonds, but selling for a lot more, are Pearls
. The most consistent way to farm them is to fill Fish Ponds with Blobfish
and keep them super happy with a 1.9 percent chance every day. Artifact Troves
have much better rates at 3.7 percent, but these are hard to get your hands on.

Willy
will gift you one for filling a Fish Pond with ten Crabs, and if you activate the Shrine of Challenge, it’s possible to find them in the Mines.

Slime Eggs

Base Price Range: 1,000-8,000g

You’ll start to find Slime Eggs
once you’ve built a Slime Hutch on your farm. When placed inside a Slime Incubator
, they’ll hatch into a new Slime. It’s often the case that you shouldn’t sell them, because you can hatch them into new Slimes. However, if your Slime Hutch is full, new Slime Eggs can fetch a good price when sold.

Different colors of Slime Eggs sell for different amounts of gold. However, they’re all profitable. Green is the lowest, selling for 1,000g. Blue ones sell for 1,750g, red for 2,500g, and purple for 5,000g. In the 1.5 update, Tiger Slimes were added. Their Eggs sell for a whopping 8,000g.

Ancient Fruit Wine

Base Price: 1,650g

Ancient Fruits
are a rare type of crop that can be made from Ancient Seeds
. Although this fruit takes a full 28 days to form, it will produce one Ancient Fruit every seven days.

At a minimum, this wine still sells for an amazing 1,650g. You can place Ancient Fruit Wine in a Cask
to age it, increasing the price even more. An Iridium quality wine by the Artisan profession will sell for an impressive 4,620g.
