Those real charged slashes just don't feel the same without them.
With the game now just over two months away from launch, players are clamoring to find every scrap of information they can about the game. And there's been some success, with a new datamine potentially revealing a second set of monsters returning from previous Monster Hunter games.
As with all leaks, take this with a grain of salt until confirmed by Capcom.
Blangonga and Lagiacrus could return to Monster Hunter Wilds
A couple of weeks ago datamining began, revealing the potential returns of Gravios, Gypceros, Nerscylla, and Gore Magala. Now, new information from Reddit user TheNadei has revealed a bunch of other monsters that could make a comeback.
It appears that the Blangonga, a fanged ape-like monster similar to Rajang, will be returning to the game.
Each monster in the Monster Hunter series is given an ID that it retains throughout each game. By looking at the game's source code, TheNadei was able to match some of Wild's monster IDs with previous games.
Using this method, it appears that Blangonga, a fanged monkey-like monster similar to Rajang, will return to the game for the first time since Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. He will be joined by Lagriacrus, a Leviathan not seen since Generations Ultimate, and the Seregios, Anjanath and Odogaron, who were in Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak and Monster Hunter World respectively.
In addition to the returning monsters, the datamine suggests six potential locations, which the game files call Desert, Forest, Oil, Tomb, Priestess, and Wall. And TheNadei also analyzed potential game breaks, which could hint at some new monsters, with parts like Trunks and Antennas found in the files.
Of course, until this is confirmed by Capcom, don't count your chickens. But it certainly sounds exciting.
Monster Hunter Wilds introduces a dynamic, living world with changing climates, along with the usual variety of monsters, weapons and giant characters. A new mount, the Seikret, helps you move faster and easier.
