With the Monster Hunter Wilds beta behind us, fans will have to wait until the end of February 2025 to dive in again. Until then, you'll have to settle for replaying Monster Hunter World and making a wish list of the changes you want to see in the final version of Wilds. The open beta was received quite well despite some performance issues for the PC version.

Monster Hunter Wilds will be the biggest game of 2025
Capcom's blockbuster has already attracted hundreds of thousands of people. And that's just the open beta…
We already know the monsters that will be included in Wilds thanks to a leak, so it's off the wish list, but the community is still adding more. The Monster Hunter series has historically been pretty open with its collaborations and crossovers, and fans are hoping to get one of those with one of the biggest games to come out recently, Elden Ring.
You are without a hunter
Elden Ring, along with the rest of FromSoftware games, has some of the most memorable bosses in video game history. While many of them are inconceivable nightmares like Rykard, there are also those that are grounded enough for the Monster Hunter universe. On Reddit, some fans think that Dragonlord Placidusax and Bayle the Dread would be perfect inclusions for a Monster Hunter Wilds X Elden Ring crossover.
Both of these dragons are cinematic boss fights in Elden Ring and its Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Placidusax, with its trademark two heads (previously three) and its intricate, hidden lair, is one of the most difficult fights in the base game. Bayle, meanwhile, is fairly easy to find but incredibly difficult to beat.
However, the highlight of the fight with Bayle is not the dragon itself, but the NPC assigned to the quest, Igon. He is a fan favorite in the community, thanks to the devastating monologue he delivers when summoned to battle Bayle. If Bayle comes to Monster Hunter Wilds, Igon should definitely be part of the crossover as well.
Considering both dragons are past their prime by the time you meet them in Elden Ring, some comments have mentioned that it would be great if we could see healthier versions of them, with all heads attached.
The Monster Hunter series has its share of dragons and elder dragons, so it wouldn't be much of a difference. Placidusax, however, would attract attention with its two heads and its aggressive lightning attacks. Bonus points if we have to nap in a coffin to summon it.
Monster Hunter Wilds introduces a dynamic, living world with changing climates, along with the usual variety of monsters, weapons and giant characters. A new mount, the Seikret, helps you move faster and easier.
