Marvel Rivals already has the perfect post-launch roadmap for new heroes

Rivals of wonder is already home to an incredibly strong hero shooter roster, containing 23 heroes and villains from all corners of the Marvel universe. From the X-Men to the Avengers, from the Guardians of the Galaxy to the darker faces like Jeff the Land Shark, Rivals of wonderThe roster is full of unique and iconic fighters. And things are only just beginning.

Rivals of wonder will launch fully on December 6, bringing with it Captain America and Winter Soldier. Developer NetEase has already confirmed that all heroes will be unlocked at launch and that all post-launch heroes will be free for all players, which is a big win for hero shooter fans. But when it comes to choosing which heroes and villains come next, Rivals of wonder might want to borrow a trick from 2022 Marvel shot.

Marvel Rivals' post-launch heroes are expected to coincide with the MCU

Since its launch in October 2022, Marvel shot has continued to release content at a steady pace. Every month, Marvel shot a new season begins, bringing with it new cards, new card variants, and other changes often tied to a specific Marvel Comics event. Most of the time, Marvel shot tries to tie its seasonal content into whatever big project the MCU is releasing around the same time.

The most recent example of this was July's “Maximum Effort” season, which tied directly into the MCU season. Deadpool and Wolverine. Theming a season after the coinciding release of the MCU is a great way to cross-promote and capitalize on the success of both entities, with Marvel shot players are encouraged to check out the MCU project and fans of the MCU project are tempted to spend some money Marvel shotthe themed season pass.

Rivals of wonder could benefit from a similar approach. While it wouldn't be necessary to center an entire season around whatever MCU project is releasing at the time, it would be fun to see a new hero or two from the MCU project head to Rivals of wonder. For example, if/when the MCU Lama is finally coming out, it would be great to see the Daywalker heading Rivals of wonder at the same time, capitalizing on its sudden popularity.

Marvel Rivals may already have the perfect post-launch approach locked down

While Rivals of wonderThe post-launch roadmap has not been officially confirmed yet, there have been many leaks regarding the upcoming roster. There are strong rumors that the Fantastic Four (The Invisible Woman, Mr. Fantastic, The Thing and the Human Torch) will come to Rivals of wonder after launch. There is already a perfect opportunity for NetEase to follow Marvel shotand will release Fantastic Four alongside the next MCU film, Fantastic Four: First Stepswhich will be released in July next year.

Rivals of wonder can then continue to add heroes and villains in conjunction with major MCU releases, such as Doctor Doom in conjunction with Avengers: Judgment Day in May 2026, and perhaps some alternate variations of popular heroes to tie in with Avengers: Secret Wars way back in the year 2027. Among the major MCU projects, Rivals of wonder you can feel free to add any Marvel hero or villain you like from any corner of the comic book universe.
