Neowiz and Round 8 Studios, the company behind the popular Pinocchio-inspired soulslike Lies by Phave announced that they are working on a sci-fi survival horror project. Furthermore, the developers have confirmed that the Lies by P The DLC will be released during the first quarter of 2025.
Originally published in September 2023, Lies by P earned immediate praise from critics and players for its graphics, unique world and Blood– inspired game. The game sold over 1 million copies in its first month and boasts an average score of 82 on OpenCritic, with Round 8 Studio currently working on DLC content and a sequel. While little is known about the second game, more information is coming to light about the studio's other projects, and it looks like fans won't have to wait much longer for more content.

According to Neowiz, Round 8 Studio is currently working on a new survival horror game set in a sci-fi world. Little is known about the new IP, but it will arrive on both PC and consoles in the future and will be based on Unreal Engine 5. While eager fans await further news on this mysterious project, the company also revealed that the long-awaited DLC for Lies by P will be released in the first quarter of 2025. In September, director Jiwon Choi teased more about the former Lies by P expansion, releasing a haunting new song and concept art depicting the protagonist standing in a snowy landscape with a lighthouse in the distance. “For the DLC of Lies by P and follow-up, we aim to do better at what we have done well and improve in areas where we have room to grow,” Choi said. “It might sound simple, but I think sticking to the basics is far from easy. Luckily, I have amazing colleagues in whom I can place my full trust.”

While the story-rich soulslike sold incredibly well, the report also shows that Neowiz saw a 68% drop in operating profit, as it saw no major releases in 2024. Lies by P was released, the company's stock price hovered around $37, then dropped to $14. Recently, the Korean studio signed a publishing deal with Zakazane, a Polish indie developer founded by former CD Projekt Red developers, to publish its debut title.
