Kylie Minogue makes return to Aussie TV in new series Strife with Asher Keddie

Kylie Minogue has made a surprising return to Australian TV.

Aside from gracing our screens briefly in the Neighbours finale in July 2022, the Aussie actress and singer has rarely featured on screens Down Under.

But she will make a cameo in the upcoming BINGE original series, Strife, which premieres on the streaming platform on December 6.

In exclusive photos first shared by TheDaily Telegraph, Minogue appears in the comedy-drama with star Asher Keddie. The Offspring actress plays a former magazine editor Evelyn Jones who becomes a leading force in women’s digital media with her website, Eve.

Based on the memoir by publishing giant Mia Freedman, titled Work, Strife, Balance, the show follows Evelyn as she navigates career, motherhood, divorce and friendships.

On the show, Minogue trades in her usual blonde locks to plays a famous brunette pop star named Gwen Lewis. She has beef with Eve after she publishes an untouched photo of Gwen on her website, with the duo facing off at a charity fundraiser.

“For Evelyn to go head-to-head with Gwen, we knew straight away we wanted to offer the role to Kylie,” Keddie – who shares the same manager in Australia as Minogue – told The Daily Telegraph.

Strife also stars the likes of Jonathan LaPaglia, Alex Dimitriades, Emma Lung, Lincoln Younes, Bebe Bettencourt and Tina Bursill.

Fans will be seeing more of Minogue next year when Channel Seven airs An Audience With Kylie, a British ITV special where the singer takes audiences through the highs of her TV and music career, performing her massive hits such as Can’t Get You Out Of My Head, Spinning Around, Locomotion, and many more.

Minogue performs at London’s Royal Albert Hall this week, and Seven have bought the exclusive rights to the concert which they will air on Channel 7 and 7plus in 2024.

It’s been a massive year for Minogue with her catchy single Padam Padam up for Best Pop Dance Recording at the 2024 Grammy Awards on February 4.

The track, which became a hit upon its release back in May, is up against Bebe Rexha & David Guetta’s One In A Million, Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding’s Miracle, David Guetta, Anne-Marie & Coi Leray’s Baby Don’t Hurt Me, and fellow Aussie Troye Sivan’s Rush.

Strife premieres Tuesday, December 5 on BINGE
