Kristen Stewart has been accused of crashing her ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson’s birthday party.
Stewart, 33, dated Pattinson, 37, at the peak of their fame in the mid-2000s and, in what would be most people’s version of their worst nightmare, she recently crashed his birthday.
The pair were the stars of the Twilight vampire movie franchise and dated for four years before calling it quits in 2013.
When they were together, there was a level of hysteria and excitement around their relationship that can only bloom from being part of such a hugely successful teen romance.
Ever since they broke up, devoted fans – or Twi-hards as they call themselves – have been begging for an update, and now they finally have one.
Catherine Hardwick, who directed the first Twilight film, shared that the two still see each other.
On the podcast Happy, Sad, Confused, she explained that she had crashed Pattinson’s 37th birthday – and Stewart had done the same.
“Strangely enough, I went to Rob’s birthday party recently. I kind of crashed with my friend Toni Collette, who had just done a movie with him. We had a fun thing, and then Kristen crashed it too,” she revealed.
Hardwick explained that the party crashing didn’t happen that long ago, and Pattinson was thrilled to see them.
“That was just a few months ago, and it was just like, ‘Oh my god!’ We all hugged each other – like, this is so crazy and cool,” she said.
This is pretty big news considering the complex relationship the pair shared.
In 2012, they were embroiled in a massive scandal when Stewart was snapped kissing married director Rupert Sanders when she was in a relationship with Pattinson.
Celebrities don’t usually like addressing such a public scandal, but Stewart issued a public apology.
“I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardised the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry,” the statement read.
The two reconciled after the cheating, but it was over by 2013, and Stewart later told The New Yorker she felt their relationship had been turned into a “product”,
“People wanted me and Rob to be together so badly that our relationship was made into a product. It wasn’t real life anymore. And that was gross to me,” she explained.
Both Pattinson and Stewart have moved on from each other.
Pattinson is dating and expecting a child with actor and singer Suki Waterhouse, and Stewart is engaged to Dylan Meyer.
