Kurama will unlock the Baryon Mode mastered with Himawari in Boruto. Here's how.
Boruto is considered a very gifted ninja, but, in his own way, he also challenges fate. Throughout his journey, Boruto has continued to grow stronger and live up to the expectations fans have for him. This is true, especially after the 3 year time jump Boruto series, where he emerged as one of the most powerful ninjas of all time. Clearly, Boruto has a strength that can hardly be rivaled by anyone, and with his genius, he has created some very powerful techniques, such as Uzuhiko. At the same time, he also created another powerful ability that is very similar to the Fourth Hokage's Flying Thunder God, Minato Namikaze.
The power of the Flying Thunder God Technique
The Flying Thunder God is an incredible space-time teleportation Ninjutsu
Fans are very familiar with the Flying Thunder God technique Naruto series. This is a jutsu created by none other than the Second Hokage of Konoha, Tobirama Senju, and improved by the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, who is the most famous user of this technique. Simply put, the Flying Thunder God technique allows the user to instantly teleport to a particular point. To make this Jutsu usable, you need to use a seal they created themselves and mark something with it. It can be any object, such as a kunai, or a stone, or it can even be a human. These seals are apparently permanent and cannot be erased, no matter what. In fact, even the death of the target or user cannot erase this seal, which simply demonstrates the incredibly powerful nature of this ability. After an entity is marked with a sigil, the user can use the Void to instantly teleport to it in the blink of an eye. This teleportation is often compared to the body flicker technique, but it is very different.
The fastest man who ever lived, Minato Namikaze! – Yes
The body figure technique uses the speed of the human performing the technique to gain ground. However, the Flying Thunder God technique, in comparison, is more similar to Summoning Jutsu. It is instant and simply calls the user close to the seal, which is why it is even faster and considered one of the deadliest techniques ever. When Tobrama used this technique, he was considered the fastest ninja of his time.
Meanwhile, Minato also became known as the fastest ninja of his era, and reached even greater heights using his technique, because his version was far better. In fact, in the Fourth Great Ninja War, Minato clearly showed fans that his version was superior to Tobirama's and that he was the true master of the technique, despite not being its creator.
Now, in Boruto series, fans know that Boruto Uzumaki also learned this jutsu and performs it with great skill. Technically speaking, the Jutsu used by Boruto is not the God of Flying Thunder. His version of the technique is slightly different and is an inferior version of the technique. Kashin Koji even states that in itself it can be called a completely different technique. However, to pay homage to the Fourth Hokage, Boruto Uzumaki also called the Jutsu the God of Flying Thunder. The ways in which these two techniques work are very different, but they produce the same results, which also explains why the naming is similar.
How Boruto Uzumaki learned about the flying god of thunder
- Boruto was taught by Kashin Koji
- Boruto received 6 years of knowledge
Boruto Uzumaki learned the Flying God of Thunder technique through Kashin Koji, at least in the story's current timeline. In the real timeline, it takes Boruto 6 years to learn this technique and invent it himself. However, even after 6 years, Boruto is not a perfect user of this technique, which highlights how brilliant the likes of Tobirama and Minato truly were. Regardless, Boruto was essentially briefed on how he managed to learn this technique and what method he used by Kashin Koji, who essentially gave him the theoretical part of the technique that took him 6 years to develop in just a few seconds.
You named the technique Flying Thunder God to pay homage to your grandfather, the Fourth Hokage Minato. – Kashin Koji
This allowed Boruto to study and practice it effectively over the course of 2 years, and to perfect this technique as best as possible. Simply put, Boruto Uzumaki doesn't use a seal to teleport to objects, meaning his version of the technique is inferior. Instead, he uses his chakra and infuses it into the metal. Any metal on his body can be infused, including items like swords or even kunai. Once his tools are infused with chakra, Boruto can teleport to them using Otsutsuki's teleportation power by opening a void in space-time and instantly teleporting.

However, if Boruto simply marked various things with his chakra, he wouldn't know which one to teleport to. This would complicate matters even more if these objects were scattered over large distances and he needed to travel far. This is exactly why Boruto Uzumaki ended up creating a very clever replacement. Instead of using various weapons, which all look the same, Boruto uses different metallic symbols. This is precisely why Boruto wears symbols all over his body. For example, on Boruto's clothes you can find the Konoha mark, the symbol of a star, among other things. These symbols, when infused with chakra, can be used by Boruto, and depending on his memory of what form he is in, Boruto can effectively teleport wherever he wants.
However, Boruto's use of this technique is not perfect because it requires a lot of concentration to teleport. Over very short distances, Boruto cannot teleport instantly. However, over long distances, Boruto needs a few seconds of concentration to function properly. Boruto even goes so far as to openly state that his version of the technique is far inferior to that of the Fourth Hokage.
Will Boruto evolve the flying god of thunder?
Boruto's technique could grow further
The question of whether or not Boruto Uzumaki will evolve the Flying Thunder God technique is quite an interesting one, and the answer to this question is a resounding yes. Boruto is known to be a genius, and if he managed to learn this technique in a very short amount of time, fans know that in his best years he will have mastered it completely, reaching similar levels to Minato in terms of teleportation. It is also possible that he will invent a completely new technique and use it accordingly. Boruto has a lot of potential in itself and will definitely continue to fulfill it as the series continues. All fans have to do is sit back and watch him reach the heights he is destined to reach.
Boruto is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by fans officially and for free on Shonen Jump and on the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of Boruto, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 17, is scheduled for December 20, 2024.
