Any metal on his body can be infused, including items like swords or even kunai. Once his tools are infused with chakra, Boruto can teleport to them using Otsutsuki's teleportation power by opening a void in space-time and instantly teleporting.

However, if Boruto simply marked various things with his chakra, he wouldn't know which one to teleport to. This would complicate matters even more if these objects were scattered over large distances and he needed to travel far. This is exactly why Boruto Uzumaki ended up creating a very clever replacement. Instead of using various weapons, which all look the same, Boruto uses different metallic symbols. This is precisely why Boruto wears symbols all over his body. For example, on Boruto's clothes you can find the Konoha mark, the symbol of a star, among other things. These symbols, when infused with chakra, can be used by Boruto, and depending on his memory of what form he is in, Boruto can effectively teleport wherever he wants.
