Kelly Clarkson’s gross shower habit divides fans

Kelly Clarkson has fans divided after confessing to a questionable shower habit.

Shower hour is individual. Some of us like to sing. Some of us like to cry. Some of us like to drink a beer on the floor.

The US talk show host, 41, for her part, said she feels productive by both brushing her teeth and peeing in the shower, revelations which made her TV guest, US actor Kenan Thompson, visibly cringe.

“I find [that] to be gross,” Thompson said, which was met with fits of laughter from Clarkson.

The encounter has prompted heavy debate on social media, with dozens of fans commenting on the YouTube video of the conversation.

“I feel personally attacked,” one user wrote.

“I brush my teeth at the sink, not the shower,” another stated.

“Both are gross,” a third chimed in.

Others felt Clarkson was simply speaking the truth about taboo human hygiene habits.

“I didn’t know people didn’t pee in the shower,” one user wrote.

“I used to brush my teeth in the shower. Sometimes I pee in the shower. It’s just going down the drain lol,” another added.

A third leapt to Clarkson’s defence, saying, “She always finds a way to make us weirdos feel comfortable.”

“Oh, Kelly, you unfiltered queen. I freaking love her so much. She and I are the same,” a fourth wrote.

It’s not the first time a celebrity has confessed to a divisive shower practice.

Hollywood couple Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis sparked criticism when, in 2021, they admitted to not washing with soap every day.

The duo, who have been married for eight years, also said they don’t bathe their two young children daily.

“I don’t wash my body with soap every day,” Kunis said on the Armchair Expert podcast with Dax Shepard.

“When I had children, I also didn’t wash them every day. I wasn’t the parent that bathed my newborns — ever.”

Kutcher said he used soap and water on just his “armpits and crotch” and “nothing else.”

He added of his children, “Here’s the thing — if you can see the dirt on them, clean them … Otherwise, there’s no point.”

The stars later poked fun at themselves after their confessions hit headlines, uploading a sarcastic video in their bathroom which showed them washing their kids.

“You’re putting water on the children? Are you trying to melt them?” Kutcher teased.

“Their body oils are going to be destroyed. What are you trying to do?” he added, prompting laughter from Kunis.
