- Assistant managers train alongside wizards, and some move up to managerial leadership.
Jujutsu Kaisen sorcerers possess otherworldly powers, such as attacking curses with straw dolls and commanding spirits at will. However, all the power of the jujutsu world combined would be wasted without the ability to organize. Luckily, Assistant Managers exist to oversee mission operations, then Jujutsu Kaisen sorcerers are always prepared.
Assistant managers take on several responsibilities to ensure the exorcism of curses and the safety of sorcerers. Their job varies between driver, liaison and reconnaissance agent. Since the role of assistant manager is vital, potential managers train alongside sorcerers at Jujutsu High. Without their help, the world of jujutsu could quickly collapse.

Assistant managers oversee the operations of the Jujutsu mission
These operations include transportation, communications and reconnaissance
An assistant manager must become a jack of all trades. While jujutsu sorcerers dedicate themselves to honing their techniques, assistant managers must study curses along with various professional skills.
- Driver: Assistant managers escort warlocks to and from mission points.
- Example: Akari accompanies Yuji, Nobara, and Megumi to different investigation points as she uncovers the mystery behind the Yasohachi Bridge (season 1, episode 22, “The Origin of Blind Obedience”).
- Recon Agent: Assistant managers gather vital information to pass on to the warlocks before each mission.
- Example: Ijichi informs Yuji, Nobara, and Megumi about the cursed womb at Eishu Detention Center and the five inmates trapped inside Block 2 (season 1, episode 4, “Curse Womb Must Die”).
- Connection: Assistant managers are a communication link between the sorcerers in the field and Jujutsu High. They call for backup when needed and help resolve disputes between students and staff.
Assistant coaches can use cursed energy
However, the cursed techniques are not necessary
Assistant managers usually don't have any damn techniques. However, that doesn't mean they can't sense the cursed energy. Additionally, all assistant managers must know basic combat. For example, Akari Nitta cannot use cursed energy. However, he can see cursed spirits. Akari is a “window” (a term for non-sorcerers who can see curses).
On the other hand, Kiyotaka Ijichi can use cursed energy. It uses two barrier techniques that assist sorcerers in their work. The first is a simple barrier technique that uses talismans to hide cursed techniques. Ijichi's second technique is a curtain barrier that hides cursed spirits from the general public.
Another cursed technique that assistant managers can use is shikigami. Akutami mentions this detail in Jujutsu Kaisen: The Official Character Guidechapter 2, page 131.
Assistant coaches train alongside Jujutsu sorcerers
Warlocks can change their specialization to Management
How are assistant managers trained? Do managers choose their field of study or does the Jujutsu High faculty choose for them? What do caregiver management courses look like? Let's take a deeper look.
Assistant managers study alongside sorcerers at one of the prefectural Jujutsu high schools in Japan. Although there is not much information about a manager's workload, it can be inferred that an aspiring manager can attend several courses. The study of curses is a mandatory subject for both sorcerers and managers. Furthermore, if a manager had a cursed technique, he would sharpen it like any sorcerer would. Finally, one might assume that administrative training is a unique requirement for managers (Ijichi's specialty is Excel, according to Akutami).
In addition to coursework, aspiring managers go on field missions to assist witchcraft students. However, there is no rating system for managers like sorcerers. However, as with any job, the most skilled managers are assigned the highest priority tasks and assume leadership positions within Jujutsu High's management teams. (This is why Ijichi is always in demand.)
There are two paths you can take to become a management student at Jujutsu High. New students can opt for management studies in their application (Akari has taken this route). On the other hand, a student of witchcraft may decide to pursue management instead, essentially changing majors. For example, Ijichi began his academic career as a student of sorcery, but decided that he was too practical and nervous to take up such a stressful vocation.
