Why the Heian Era Matters

The era of the strongest sorcerers in JJK
-
Sukuna is from the Heian era
The Heian era is one of the most important periods in the world JJK. This is especially true because this is the time when witchcraft was at its peak. This is also the period where Ryomen Sukuna, the king of curses, comes from. During the Heian era, Sukuna was at the top of his game and completely unbeatable. Sorcerers from all over the world tested their skills against Sukuna and fought against him to hone their skills. Naturally, Sukuna enjoyed slaughtering people during this era, and it was through his countless rampages that he eventually became known as the King of Curses and the strongest in history.
In all heaven and earth, He alone is the honored one. – Narrator
This time period had a lot of meaning JJKespecially since the very idea of starting the Culling Game was to bring witchcraft back to its previous levels. The Heian era was always going to be extremely important, but unfortunately fans didn't get a proper look at it in the original manga. It's no surprise that readers were desperately hoping for a flashback to the Heian era, not only to delve deeper into Sukuna's life, but also to give fans an idea of what witchcraft was like back then and what kind of individuals existed at that time. time. Of course, the Culling Game gave fans a glimpse of some individuals from that era, but unfortunately not all of them were shown.
The meaning of a flashback to the Heian era JJK it was terrible. It's a shame that fans didn't get to see anything from this period of history aside from small snippets, and if they had, it would definitely have been a phenomenal addition, to say the least. The fact is that the author doesn't really like drawing flashbacks, and he himself confirmed this in the past. Thankfully, in JJK's epilogue, he took a deep dive into Sukuna's past and gave fans a proper look at the Heian era.
How JJK finally gave fans a hint of the Heian era
Sukuna and Uraume's flashback from the Heian era was finally shown
JJK the epilogue encompassed various characters. Fans saw the epilogue begin with none other than Ozawa, who met Yuji following the events of the Shinjuku Showdown story arc. Clearly, this epilogue is set in the future, long after the conclusion of Shinjuku Showdown. Likewise, fans also got to see Nobara around the same time. This epilogue also occurred after the conclusion of the Shinjuku Showdown. The most shocking epilogue of all involved Panda, especially since it was set 62 years in the future, in 2080, much to the surprise of fans. Yuta's nephews were revealed to fans in this epilogue. Last but not least, fans got to see the epilogue of Uraume and Sukuna, and through that, their first real look at these two Heian-era characters.
Who is Sukuna-sama who is never cold around me? – Uraume
The epilogue begins with Sukuna, the King of Curses, encountering a dejected child covered in frost and ice. Uraume is then properly introduced to the fans and they seem to have no idea what has happened around them. Uraume goes on to imply that they unknowingly killed their parents with their powers, because they can't control their abilities at all. Much to the fans' surprise, the King of Curses actually takes a liking to Uraume and welcomes them. On the surface, Sukuna states that he is only taking them in because his refrigerator was broken. But, deep down, it is the sympathy for this child, with whom he relates in some way, that pushes Sukuna to protect them. It is evident that Sukuna and Uraume spend a lot of time together after this event, and at the same time, fans are informed that Sukuna tries to convince Uraume to improve his skills by trying to prevent his flesh from spoiling. , using the freezing power. This is how Uraume begins to gain control over his abilities, and it's definitely an exciting addition to the story. Uraume also continues to cook meat for Sukuna often, which he also enjoys.

JJK undergoes a major time jump in Gege's epilogue.
As the story continues, Sukuna asks if they can cook humans for him. Of course, this comment would have surprised anyone, and Uraume probably was the same. However, what worried Uraume the most was the fact that Sukuna had never felt cold around them. Every person in their life was probably slaughtered because of the ice ability they possessed. But the King of Curses never had any problems being with them. For Uraume, Sukuna became the only person capable of resisting the power and, at the same time, protecting and raising them. Likewise, Sukuna also wondered why Uraume never felt cold around him, and that had a completely different meaning. Everyone in Sukuna's life probably thought he was a cold individual and didn't dare approach him. However, Uraume was clearly different, and that's what made Sukuna want to protect them more. Fans then saw these two characters drift apart, which marked the end of the epilogue.
JJK still needs more of the Heian era
The Heian era has much more to offer
While this glimpse into the Heian era was certainly exciting for fans, they definitely need more. The Heian Era has so much potential and fans would absolutely appreciate it if the author decided to go ahead and write more similar one-shots from way back in the story. This period is full of intrigue and mystery and, above all, powerful sorcerers. Fans would absolutely love to see more from these characters and, most importantly, Sukuna facing them in battle. The King of Curses honed his skills as he ravaged these sorcerers, and fans would love the show if it were provided to them.
Hopefully, at some point in the future, the author decides to return to the Heian era and delve deeper into this period. It would also be a good omen JJK se Gege showcases the numerous clans that existed back then, and at the same time, their numerous descendants that exist in the current timeline.
