Hugh Jackman’s wild confession about his career

Hugh Jackman has made a wild confession about his latest career move.

Jackman previously announced that he had decided to retire from playing the role of Wolverine.

However, he later backtracked on the idea when Ryan Reynolds pitched him the entire of returning in Deadpool.

In an interview with Fandango, the Aussie star recalled the moment he suddenly realised, while driving, that he was ready to play Wolverine again.

“I was just driving, and literally just like a bolt of lightning came (with) this knowing, deep in my gut, that I wanted to do this film with Ryan (Reynolds), for Deadpool and Wolverine to come back together,” he said.

Jackman added: “I literally couldn’t wait to arrive. As soon as I arrived, I rang Ryan, and I just said: ‘Let’s do it.’ I hadn’t rung my agent. No one. I had to ring my agent and say, ‘oh, by the way, I’ve just committed to a movie.”

For years beforehand, Jackman repeatedly said he would never return as Wolverine after the character died in the emotional conclusion of 2017’s Logan.

“Sometimes in life, things come really clearly to you, and when that happens, I’ve learned you just jump,” Jackman added. “You go for it.”

Meanwhile, After almost three decades of marriage, Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness announced that their marriage had come to an end late last year.

According to a source close to Jackman, the couple’s two children, Ava and Oscar, are supporting their father through his surprise break-up.

A close friend of the actor told Women’s Day: “Ava and Oscar really rallied around him and it’s made a huge impact.

“He always looks so happy when he’s with those two.”

“They know him better than he does and are constantly surprising him,” the source said.

“They’ve become closer than he could have imagined and he can confide in them, whereas before he’d turn to Deb.”

It comes after Jackman took to social media to hit out at reports he was plotting a move back to Australian soil. “STOP THE MADNESS!!! Yes, we moved. To a new apartment. IN NEW YORK CITY,” he wrote on Instagram Stories in response to the claims. “Stories to the contrary are UNTRUE.”
