Disney Valley of Dreams is home to a wide variety of creatures, many of which can be fed, petted, and even recruited to accompany you on your travels. By interacting with such creatures you can also earn more Dreamlight, which can be used to unlock biomes, castle kingdoms, and items in Scrooge's shop.

After feeding a creature, you will begin the process of allowing it to be selectable as a companion, along with Pua who comes from a quest and many other event companions. While companions provide no tangible benefits, they will follow you around and look adorable.

How to approach a creature
When you see a creature, it will respond in one of four ways AND how it works will depend on when you can feed it. Here's what to look for and how to respond.
Red/green light
Creatures with this behavior will have a “danger” position and a “safe” position.. You have to approach slowly when it is safe. The following creatures like to play this game before allowing you to interact with them:
- Crocodiles. It is safe to approach crocodiles when their heads are down, but they stop when they are up. Feed them once they have been brought down.
- Raccoons. For raccoons, approach when they are sitting, stop when they are standing. Feed them when they have visibly relaxed.
- Cobra. Cobras are easy to scare, so wait for them to lower their heads before approaching. They will lie down when you can feed them.
Hunting
These creatures like you chase them once you have identified them. Run after them until they stop Still. After you chase them enough, they will let you approach and feed them. Make sure you bring the right snacks!
The following creatures like to play tag with you:
- Foxes in the icy peaks.
- Rabbits in the peaceful meadow.
- Monkeys in the Landing of the Ancients.
- Pegasus' pups in Mythopia.
Wait
These types of creatures will explore you before they let you feed him. They will curl up and huddle over you and watch for a few seconds before opening up. The following creatures like to do this:

No games

How to feed a creature

How to recruit a creature as a companion
If you wish recruit a creature to keep you company while you do your Dreamlight tasks, then you will have to feed him two or three times.
As you can feed each type of animal only once a day, you will need it revisit your chosen friend a second time after a period of 24 real-life hours has passed.

same type of animal

How to check if a creature is now a companion
To see if a creature has already become a companion, go to Main Menu > Collection > Creatures. All creatures in the game are shown here and as you recruit them they will be highlighted on this menu.

Some variants will not appear in the collection, but will appear in the companion section of your inventory. This is usually for

How to equip and change companions
To access the accompanying menu go to Inventory > Wardrobe > Companions. Here you will see all the companions you have from missions or events, together any creatures recruited.
All you have to do to equip them is simply select them by clicking on the image. Now you can exit the menu and your new companion will follow you around.
To change, return to the same menu AND select a different option or click the companion again to deselect it.
Your companion will remain with you throughout Dreamlight Valley, until he is dismissed. If you enter the main castle, your companion will vanish until returning to the valley.
Comrades are
not summonable in other realms.
How to place companions in your village
You can create the cozy home to place more Disney Dreamlight Valley companions in your village. This allows you to select up to four pets per house, letting them roam freely around the village near their new home.
You can place as many Cozy Companion Homes as you want!
This allows you to not only see them, but also pet them. You can place toys in the village they can play too, creating a home atmosphere. Get to bond with your animal companion in Dreamlight Valley it makes the game much more welcoming and engaging. You can too take photos together!
